BluesKajHiyas all13:08
penguin42Hey BK13:08
BluesKajHi penguin4213:09
BluesKajmy dependency problems seem to boil down to libical1 , but it has no installation candidate13:11
penguin42hmm, I seem to have one - from saucy-proposed13:11
BluesKajI've got proposed commented out , since I was advised the last time I lost X ...wonder if I should enable it13:13
penguin42I guess you've probably got a package that came from proposed that depends on it?13:14
BluesKajyeah , could be13:15
penguin42when disabling a repo I think you need to remove all the packages that came from it - not sure if I know a way to do it though13:15
BluesKajdesktop is broken , so I suppose I could try it13:15
BluesKajok ,bbiab13:16
lordievaderGood afternoon.14:06
penguin42hi14:08
lordievaderHey penguin42, how are you?14:08
penguin42good14:08
lordievader:)14:09
* penguin42 is trying openSuse in a u+1 kvm and has slight graphics corruption; heck knows where to start reporting that14:19
BluesKajok penguin42 , back on 13.10 , but i'm in a quandary about the proposed repos ...guess now that I'm committed to their packages I have to live with my decision14:35
penguin42yeh or somehow pull every one out14:36
BluesKajgoes against the advice from the kubuntu-devel guys tho14:36
penguin42well don't go against them - they can make your machine do very odd things if you misbehave :-)14:37
BluesKajbut how ? I don't know of any method to pull packages installed from a particular deb14:38
BluesKajthe guys at devel are good people :)14:39
penguin42well, there is a ppa-purge to remove stuff from a ppa14:39
BluesKajproposed isn't classified as appa14:41
penguin42yeh I know, I just mean it's a similar problem14:41
BluesKajwell . I'll try to be less aggressive with dist-upgrades , because I ran that deb enabled for quite a while before my pc mucked up14:45
BluesKajunknowing that it could cause me problems14:46
penguin42yeh you've just got to be a bit careful with dist-upgrade to check it's not removing loads of stuff14:56
BluesKajyeah I gambled and lost , but it's fixed now14:57
BluesKajpenguin42, I setup a preferences file for proposed as suggested here , https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Testing/EnableProposed15:21
BluesKajthanks to tsimpson15:21
penguin42nice15:22
BluesKajyeah , i ran an update/upgrade , no errors15:24
penguin42hmm15:26
ShapeShifter499hi21:01
ShapeShifter499now with all this NSA stuff I'd like to use something ran locally like VNC instead of teamviewer or splashtop on linux. However vnc is slow and I have yet to find a faster alternative that would allow remote control access from a iPhone or Android device. Any ideas?21:01
IdleOne!crossposting21:02
ubottuPlease don't ask the same question in multiple Ubuntu channels at the same time. Many helpers are in more than one channel and it's not fair to them or the other people seeking support.21:02
ShapeShifter499IdleOne, oops sorry about that21:05
