dpb1marcoceppi: jcastro: nice work on the discourse beta.  I'm already loving it.14:07
jcastroI dig it too14:08
jcastrothere's a charm!14:08
dpb1yay!14:09
jcastrohey jamespage14:21
jamespagejcastro, hey14:21
jcastroyou're on review duty this week btw14:21
jamespagejcastro, thanks for the reminder14:22
jcastrono worries, I am reasonably certain no one reads the topic14:22
jcastrohttps://code.launchpad.net/~patrick-hetu/charms/precise/gunicorn/python-rewrite/+merge/16708814:23
jcastroalso this isn't in the queue but it should be, if you could do that one first it would be <314:23
jamespagejcastro, won't get to it today14:24
jcastrosinzui: ^^ that branch is ready for another review but didn't make it into the queue, no idea why14:24
jamespagejcastro, doing some ceph/nova-compute benching marking stuff14:24
jcastrojamespage: yeah that's fine I just wanted it on top14:24
sinzuijcastro, I see, and It has been 2 weeks.14:25
sinzuiI am reporting a bug14:25
jcastrosinzui: want to talk Queue 2.0 today?14:26
sinzuiinteresting, staging and m.jc.com agree, so there is something about that Mp that confuses the review queue proc.14:26
sinzuijcastro, I can in a few hours14:27
* jcastro nods14:27
jcastrom_3: you've reviewed that charm before so if you want to steal it from jamespage I am sure he will not complain14:30
FunnyLookinHatOk guys - do any of you know if there's a way to dump the requests being made with juju-core?  I _really_ need to see what the distance is between JuJu and Rackspace... they're bought in to getting things working, but they need debug information to explain the 411 Content Length errors keeping me from auth'ing14:45
FunnyLookinHatI'm not seeing anything useful in goose unfortunately... and things _seem_ to be setup correctly14:45

MarkDudeWhere can I go on LP to also request the Unicorn fix?15:57
MarkDude:D15:57
* MarkDude has a few questions on Juju and some of the cli functionality15:58
MarkDudeMostly in regards to getting some work with it in Fedora15:58
* MarkDude has not forgotten or stopped making plans. We have an idea with my local group of trying to use Juju in combination with Kickstart ( the way to "script" with the new improved Anaconda installer16:00
MarkDudeBetween having kickstart make installs easier, I want to see about having it install Juju at start. After that - most likely using some cli charms to make the system close to out of ther box usable16:01
* MarkDude will do a formal letter with my title and crap later, but was hoping to an idea of how much work might be needed to use cli of Juju. This is pretty much all work that will be done by Fedora folks. 16:03
* MarkDude did not have package sponsor to make the work *effective* on my side. I now have access to package folks that like the idea of making "bridges with other projects". Yay, Penguin family \o16:04

MarkDudeSo far most of the licenses look compatible with the legal restrictions: Jenkins, Go language, salt-minion etc16:52

CampbellAnyone had any success with the OpenStack quantum-gateway charm? I18:34
CampbellI'm having problems getting it to deploy18:34
Mage_DudeWhen doing a MAAS install, you need two users correct? One for MAAS admin, and then other 'users', but at least one to use JuJu? Or does the MAAS admin also require a single node to run a 'JuJu server' (not even sure what _I_ mean by that)? I'm a little unclear why the default MAAS install takes up a node and who needs to 'own' it.18:55

Mage_DudeJuju doesn't really work with virtualized environments does it?21:43
sarnoldo_O21:43
sarnoldthat's the whole point :)21:43
Mage_DudeSo there's no way to trial it?21:44
jcastroI think he means a virtualization provider21:44
jcastroif you use juju .7 you can use containers to try it21:45
sarnoldMage_Dude: charms I developed for lxc on my laptop deployed fine to amazon ec2 instances; I didn't use the free micro.t1 instances at amazon because those take for every to even deploy an OS, but you could...21:45
jcastrobut for example I want a vagrant provider and so on.21:45
Mage_DudeIt seems that it doesn't even deploy a single node. I've tried 13.04, 12.04 and neither of them, if you follow the instructions online, actual finish provisioning the node and allow Juju to work.21:46
jcastrowhich instructions are you following?21:47
jcastroout of curiosity, as we currently are in-progress for a doc transition21:47
Mage_Dudehttps://juju.ubuntu.com/docs/getting-started.html21:47
Mage_DudeI've tried the simplest command possible, 'juju --version'. And even that doesn't run...21:48
jcastrosigh21:48
jcastrothose instructions are incorrect21:48
jcastrohttps://juju.ubuntu.com/get-started/21:49
jcastroMage_Dude: if you remove/purge "juju" and install juju-core21:49
sarnoldjcastro: what's wrong with them? :) those were the ones I used..21:49
jcastro"juju version" should work21:49
jcastrowrong PPA21:50
jcastrothumper: please, hurry. This two Juju nightmare is punching users in the face. :-/21:51
thumperjcastro: working on it dude21:51
jcastroMage_Dude: so basically we're in the middle of a transition between major version of juju and you're seeing the worst possible combination right now21:52
Mage_Dudejcastro: I wish I'd known but, thanks for at least working on it. It just sucks to have lost a week to fiddling with it.21:53
jcastrooh man dude, say something waaaay earlier21:53
Mage_DudeI certainly don't want to be the lmgtfy guy. (But it is funny to see every single link purple for searches related to maas/juju)21:54
sarnoldhehe21:54
jcastrono, you may bother me at any time21:55
jcastroall the time to get you on your feet21:55
jcastrowe can at least help you get some time back21:55
jcastrono one in this channel will ever tell you to LMGTFY21:55
jcastrowe're here to help save you time, not steal it21:55
jcastrobut at least getting you on juju 1.11.x will get you on stuff that is improving very quickly21:56
Mage_DudeWell, I'll at least see you at OSCON and hope to be not sucky at this by that time to really learn some tricks and stuff21:56
jcastrowe certainly owe you some consolation beers.21:58
Mage_DudePortland is a good place for that.22:00
Mage_DudeIn the install it says use the juju-1.10.0 alternative, should I use 1.11.0?22:00
marcoceppiMage_Dude: 1.11.0, the installation instructions should say 1.10 or above22:01
* marcoceppi goes to update that doc22:01
Mage_Dudemarcoceppi: Just the getting started part it mentions the 1.10.0 vs the 0.722:02
marcoceppiMage_Dude: yeah, it really should be 1.X vs 0.7, 0.7 is probably going to be the last 0.x release (old code version)22:03
Mage_Dudesudo apt-get install juju-core22:03
Mage_DudeHa ha!22:03
marcoceppiMage_Dude: exactly!22:03
marcoceppi;)22:03
jcastromake sure to check the update-alternatives too22:03
=== marlinc is now known as marlinc|away
Mage_DudeNo alternatives for juju?22:05
=== marlinc|away is now known as marlinc
Mage_DudeBut juju version shows 1.1122:06
jcastroif you have both installed it'll give you the option to switch back and forth22:06
jcastrook, you're good to go then!22:06
Mage_DudeNo tools available.22:20
marcoceppiMage_Dude: are you deploying on to ARM?22:24
Mage_Dudemarcoceppi: Nope, nor to AWS.22:24
marcoceppiMage_Dude: just (i386|amd_64) with MaaS?22:25
mwhudsonMage_Dude: could be https://bugs.launchpad.net/juju-core/+bug/117297322:25
Mage_DudeYeah reading through it now, but still don't understand a fix. Do I need to fake AWS keys?22:25
mwhudsoni think you need actual AWS keys22:25
mwhudson(which is why the bug is critical i guess...)22:26
marcoceppiLooks like it's being actively worked on too22:27
Mage_DudeWell, I did get the command failed: access-key: expected nothing, got nothing (not sure why that's bad...) I'll try again in the morning.22:32
