[00:00] I fill in https://answers.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+addquestion [00:00] (Error ID: OOPS-4622bb6621aa6b7551c4ed8e7501b131) [00:00] https://oops.canonical.com/?oopsid=OOPS-4622bb6621aa6b7551c4ed8e7501b131 [00:00] I choose english as a language [00:01] And summary is : sound not working [00:01] Then I click continue [00:02] Why the bot is sending me a link I am not autorize to view [00:04] guillcote: you're not no, but the folks that are can then look it up [00:05] (Error ID: OOPS-429b7e79a588af215565db206753a50f) [00:05] https://oops.canonical.com/?oopsid=OOPS-429b7e79a588af215565db206753a50f [00:05] (Error ID: OOPS-ac8903cc4c25e96e84ca6383dd4b59a6) [00:05] https://oops.canonical.com/?oopsid=OOPS-ac8903cc4c25e96e84ca6383dd4b59a6 [00:06] guillcote: no need to copy them all in [00:06] Continuing to paste oopses isn't going to help us solve the issue [00:06] one will be enough [00:06] StevenK: morning [00:06] czajkowski: Hai [00:07] ok [00:07] guillcote: It looks like it is trying to find duplicates. I suspect there are very large number of questions with the same subject, so perhaps altering the subject will stop the timeouts. [00:08] * StevenK goes for breakfast before his stomach breaks out to do it on its own. [00:08] guillcote: what are you trying to ask a question on [00:08] Conversely, a sourcepackage of blank is probably not helping either [00:11] I was able to post my question [00:11] https://answers.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+question/230924 [00:14] guillcote: you may also find support in #ubuntu wth the question [00:41] czajkowski: I already asked the question at #ubuntu, I was ignored [00:42] guillcote: it can be busy [00:44] guillcote: We aren't going to be able to help here either. Have you tried askubuntu.com ? [00:45] guillcote: or you need to have mor patience in #ubuntu [00:45] "ignored" doesn't really mean ignored, #ubuntu moves kinda fast [00:45] but there is also askubuntu.com [00:56] TheLordOfTime: I been waiting 4 hours, do you think I'll get an answer by waiting more? [00:56] guillcote: wait 4 hours since you ASKED? [00:56] you should've reasked between then an now [00:57] but askubuntu.com helps [00:57] and answers.launchpad needs a LOT of patience [00:57] StevenK: I was there for the timeout problem, I sent the link to show that the timeout problems where resolved [00:58] TheLordOfTime: I reasked [01:00] I thought askubuntu.com where for more specific question, not something does not work, please help. [01:22] hi [01:23] the idea of using package signing is only available for trustworthy users? [01:27] beepie: I'm not quite sure what you mean. Each Launchpad user has a separate signing key for their PPAs; by adding that PPA and key to a system, you are saying that you trust that user. Launchpad doesn't make any assertions about the trustworthiness of a particular PPA or user. [01:27] You need to determine whether you trust them yourself. [01:44] do you folks often use eclipse+bzr for launchpad? [01:45] wgrant, .. i was a little confused since i was seeing labels with the word 'trustworthy' on some pages on launchpad [01:46] (or rather with the word 'not trustworthy') [01:47] beepie: So, uploads to the main Ubuntu archive are uploaded by people who have been mentored and granted privledges to do so, so they are trusted. Any person can have a PPA and upload whatever they want -- the contents are not checked by us, so they are in essence, not trustworthy [01:50] StevenK, so if the user has his key verifiable with keyserver.ubuntu.com , i'm guessing this is another question.. [01:50] beepie: The user requires his key to be on the keyserver to upload packages. [01:50] ah ok.. thanks.. [01:50] That isn't what I mean by trustworthy, though. [01:50] yup :) [01:51] (yup I figured hehe) [02:51] there is an issue with current launchpad. When adding a download file, attaching the GPG signature gives an error [02:51] "Cannot upload files larger than 1024 bytes" [02:52] 1024 bytes? [02:53] m4n1sh: A detached signature shouldn't be that big [02:53] Are you sure you're uploading the right file? === Logan_ is now known as Guest85841 [04:27] hey [04:27] please help, all the time it says "pnding publication" https://launchpad.net/~gotwig/+archive/weekly/+packages package keybinder [04:28] *Pending publication [04:29] it works now [04:29] thank you [04:30] You only copied it a few minutes ago.; [04:31] wgrant, I did the process again and again around 6 times [04:31] Clearly. [04:31] But, just like a normal upload, a copy can take up to 20 minutes to be published. [04:32] very nice, at this morning the build servers are lazy ;D [04:32] In this case it took 8 minutes. [04:32] I requested a build already yesterday [04:32] what ever [04:32] That's unrelated [04:33] You copied the package into this PPA at 2013-06-18T04:20:26.603649+00:00 [04:33] wgrant, thanks anyway =) g2g to launch... [04:33] Which is 13 minutes ago [04:33] I copied it yesterday as well [04:34] btw. why cant we stop building processes [04:35] You can cancel a build by clicking the "Cancel build" button. [04:36] wgrant, where can I see that [04:36] gotwig: If you expand a package on the page you linked, you'll see a list of builds [04:37] Those link to the build pages [04:37] The page for an unfinished build has a "Cancel build" button. [04:37] That cancels the build. [04:41] wgrant, can you tell me if the package builds? https://code.launchpad.net/~gotwig/+archive/weekly/+packages [04:41] indicator-synapse - 0.0-0~518~precise1 [04:41] gotwig: What do you mean? [04:42] it here said that it couldnt upload correctly https://code.launchpad.net/~luksi.reiku/+recipe/indicator-search-daily [04:42] but when I go on the package in PPA, I see build icon [04:42] and this page updates https://code.launchpad.net/~gotwig/+archive/weekly/+build/4a722733 [04:43] gotwig: It failed to upload because you already built the same version 6 hours ago [04:43] but not for the amd64 version [04:43] Note that indicator-synapse 0.0-0~518~precise1 is shown on +packages as having been published 6 hours ago [04:43] I kow clicked "try rebuild" [04:43] or something like that [04:43] Recipes build a source package [04:43] *now [04:43] The source package builds amd64 and i386 binaries [04:47] yeah [04:47] I now started mad64 [04:47] *amd64 === tasdomas_afk is now known as tasdomas [05:45] https://launchpad.net seems to be having openid issues, I'm getting the following when I try to login on askubuntu "Unable to log in with your OpenID provider: No OpenID endpoint found." [05:45] Kuroshita: thats not launchpad.net. it is login.launchpad.net which is an entirely different thing from a different team. [05:46] ok [05:57] wgrant: yes. It was very big. I don't know why [05:58] m4n1sh: Can you show me the signature? [05:59] wgrant: you mean the file? [05:59] the tarball sig is 1.1MB. Whoa! [05:59] m4n1sh: Sounds like you didn't create a detached signature [05:59] I used gpg --armor --sign --detach-sig filename [06:00] You mean --detach-sign? [06:00] aka. -b [06:00] wgrant: naah. I used the command shown on "Add a download file" page [06:01] To create a digital signature, use the following command: [06:01] % gpg --armor --sign --detach-sig . [06:02] That reliably creates an 836 byte file here [06:02] Regardless of the input [06:03] wgrant: oh yeah. It does now. This is weird [06:03] most surprising thing I ever saw [06:05] wgrant: thanks for the help [06:05] :) === tasdomas is now known as tasdomas_afk [09:19] hi all [09:19] where would be the place to ask about code that has 'vanished' off launchpad source hosting and gives an OOPS? :) [09:19] sivang: do you have an oops id ? [09:20] czajkowski: will paste it here in a sec [09:22] czajkowski: for example, http://bazaar.launchpad.net/~sivan/hubackup/hubackup--main/view/head:/HUBackup/common/HUB.py [09:23] czajkowski: would give you OOPS-7184cf9ef8f9841baaa52005928017e6 [09:23] https://oops.canonical.com/?oopsid=OOPS-7184cf9ef8f9841baaa52005928017e6 [09:24] czajkowski: people have been wanting to use the code and read over the source for reference, and have also reported that. [09:24] czajkowski: this happens at random files of the code hosted [09:25] wgrant: StevenK ^ [09:26] guys I have to run, how can I get updated on this when this is either solved or understood? :) [09:26] sivang: well etiher remain in here [09:26] or else file a answer on lp [09:26] I'll keep this up- I'll just sign myself 'away' [09:27] please feel free to ping /privmsg or whatever [09:27] this is important :) and I thank your help [09:27] czajkowski: wait, an answer, or a question ? [09:28] sivang: https://answers.launchpad.net/launchpad [09:32] czajkowski: https://answers.launchpad.net/launchpad/+question/230940 [09:32] czajkowski: could you be as so kind to update me via this question? :) [09:32] sivang: I can't but I'm sure someone will [09:32] czajkowski: but are you investigating it right now? [09:33] no I'm not, I was helping you put the information out there so wgrant or StevenK can do so when they are online [09:40] czajkowski: cool, thanks [09:40] cheers all!
