[13:14] I've also subscribed to the bug reports, so will now respond more quickly === menesis1 is now known as menesis === dholbach_ is now known as dholbach [15:49] ahoy. can anyone tell me - when GCC version 4.7.0 is updated to 4.7.1, do we recompile every package in the universe!? [15:58] alex-foo: No, it's not uncommon for packages to go un-recompiled from one release to another. [15:58] There are however rebuild *tests* done from time to time, but the build results don't go into the primary archive [15:58] maxb, so if the whole archive was rebuilt from source it would differ? or do packages explicitly build-depend on a given compiler? [16:00] I don't think you can rely on compilation being bytewise identical even if you keep the exact same compiler [16:00] because of other dependencies changing? === ryanakca_ is now known as ryanakca === LordOfTime is now known as LordOfTime|EC2 [18:45] alex-foo: for example, it happens, that a package isn't rebuild for several releases as there was no package update in the meantime [18:46] alex-foo: you can see the results of the latest rebuild test at http://people.ubuntuwire.org/~wgrant/rebuild-ftbfs-test/test-rebuild-20130614-saucy.html [18:46] (many packages to investigate and fix :( ) === dpm is now known as dpm-afk === kees_ is now known as kees === yofel_ is now known as yofel [20:48] geser: interesting, thanks
