[13:10] Hi. Trying to boot Lubuntu into command line (no X). Have held down shift to get to GRUB. Where do I go from here? [15:50] hey does anyone know if xfburn supports disc spanning? [19:37] hello, lightdm is stuck in a loop [19:38] piepiepie: It kicks you back when you try to login? [19:40] I do not get the login prompt. In /var/log/lightdm/x-0-greeter.log I read: Failed to register client: GDBus.Erro:org.freedesktop.DBus.Error.ServiceUnknown: The name org.gnome.SessionManager was not provided by any .service file [19:40] Unable to register client with session manager [19:41] XIO: fatal IO error 11 (Resource temporarily unavailable) on X server ":0" [19:41] GConf Erro: Failed to activate configuration server: Connection closed [19:42] Hm. No idea on that one, I haven't seen it yet. [19:42] I tried to remove and reinstall lubuntu -desktop [19:42] no luck with that [19:42] the other log files seem to contain no errors... [19:44] Is there an alternate display manager that I could try? [19:44] Like xdm or gdm? [19:47] piepiepie: Which lightdm greeter do you have currently installed? [19:48] unity-greeter 12.10.4 UID=105 LANG=en_US.UTF-8 [19:49] piepiepie: Perhaps lightdm-gtk-greetr [19:49] greetr->greeter [19:50] And you do have lubuntu-default-settings? [19:51] yes, lightdm-gtk-greeter is installed [19:51] this is a fresh installation of lubuntu 12.10.4 [19:51] it got stuck in the loop at the first boot [19:52] lubuntu-default-settings is installed too [19:52] I'd try something current, meaning 13.04. [19:53] yes I could try that [19:53] do you know how to start xdm? I just installed it...รน [19:53] But, another DM is LXDM. I'd still recommend upgrading. [20:00] there is a segmentation fault in /usr/lib/xorg/modules/drivers/sis_drv.so [20:00] I'll try upgrading to 13.04 [20:01] Well thta's not good.. [23:08] Hello, I copied my /etc/network/interfaces file over from an older ubuntu 11.04 machine to a new lubuntu 13.04 machine and none of my "up route add" commands seem to work anymore, any ideas why? [23:09] malaphus: mabye just check in on the changes that have been made and redo the config to match current requirements [23:10] holstein: the only thing that I seemed to need to change was eth0 -> p5p1, which I did [23:10] if I run the route add commands manually they work
