SonikkuAmericaHey! Is Kubuntu Active a supported Ubuntu flavor?14:11
smartboyhwSonikkuAmerica, it is.14:13
SonikkuAmericaOoh! I guess I need to update the wiki on flavors then... after all, Plasma Active != Plasma, at least strictly.14:13
smartboyhwSonikkuAmerica, well it isn't an official FLAVOUR.14:14
smartboyhwIt is just a supported IMAGE.14:14
smartboyhwUnder Kubuntu, that is.14:14
SonikkuAmericalol... IMAGE != FLAVO(U)R14:14
smartboyhwSonikkuAmerica, of course.14:15
smartboyhwKubuntu is a flavour.14:15
smartboyhwKubuntu Active i386, Kubuntu Active armhf, Kubuntu Desktop i386, Kubuntu Desktop powerpc, Kubuntu Desktop amd64 are images.14:15

stack__how can I upgrade kde-runtime ?I am using kubuntu 12.0420:27
yofelstack__: upgrade to which version?20:28
stack__to the latest one so that import org.kde.locale shall work20:29
stack__@yofel I think 4.1020:29
yofelstack__: http://www.kubuntu.org/news/kde-sc-4.10.420:29
stack__@yofel which one should I choose I am using kubuntu 12.0420:31
yofelstack__: open konsole and run 'sudo apt-add-repository ppa:kubuntu-ppa/backports'20:31
yofelthen search for updates and install them20:32
stack__search for update as in use sudo apt-get update?20:32
yofelyep20:34
stack__@yofel http://pastebin.com/raw.php?i=UkPRbn1P sudo apt-get update will update to kde-runtime 4.10?20:34
yofelstack__: you'll additinally need to run 'sudo apt-get dist-upgrade' after that20:35
yofelbe warned: that will remove a few packages, just kubuntu-desktop should not be one of that20:35
stack__ok sudo apt-get update then sudo apt-get  dist-upgrade20:35
stack__so it may remove packages :/ how to ensure kubuntu-desktop is not one of that?20:36
yofelit will tell you what it does and asks you whether that's fine20:36
yofelbefore doing anything20:37
stack__@yofel I am getting this http://pastebin.com/raw.php?i=qhdBYQ4320:41
yofelstack__: that looks generally fine (except that you have another package manager running)20:42
yofelI wonder why it wants to remove libakonadi-dev though20:42
stack__i tried $ sudo rm /var/lib/dpkg/lock $ sudo dpkg --configure -a to remove lock but did not help ..20:44
yofelstack__: I would go ahead with that and reinstall libakonadi-dev if you need it later20:44
yofelstack__: different lock file20:44
stack__@yofel yeah ;p so I should do it?20:45
yofelwell, nothing should break from my experience20:45
stack__cool between @yofel you are great ;p thanks20:48
yofelsure :)20:49
stack__@yofel are you doing gsoc ?20:49

yofelstack__: can you please pastebin what happend before that?20:51
stack__@yofel http://pastebin.com/raw.php?i=1QRKV3Qh20:52
yofelstack__: thanks! please run dist-upgrade again which will work this time. If it complains, run 'sudo apt-get install -f'20:53
yofelI'll make sure that's fixed20:53
stack__after sudo apt-get install -f then i again have to use dist-upgrade ?20:55

stack__@yofel http://pastebin.com/raw.php?i=MSDbgXkN what should be done here?20:56

simon__Hi, does this setup works theoretically? Having win 7 (encrypted by truecrypt) installed on HDD X and Ubuntu installend on HDD Y without any kind of bootloader. And switch between the booting devices by selecting them in bios? Or could I get troubles with that? Thanks guys!21:03
IzanagiJust try if that works. Anyway, if you choose in bios hdd x, hdd x still need a bootloader to load system from it.21:06
stack__@yofel Thank you :) But now plasmoidviewer is not installed21:08
Izanagisimon__: so theoretically you need two bootloaders on each hdd. Never did it though21:09
stack__@simon__ may be try virtual box if you are confused with it21:09
yofelstack__: please install the 'plasmate' package, it was moved there21:09
simon__of course i need two ones for each hdd one, but i dont want to interfere in some way with the truecrypt bootloader by installing kubuntu with attached truecrypt HDD21:11
stack__plasmoidviewer is giving blank screen even on working plasmoids now @yofel21:23

yofelI have no idea21:33
SonikkuAmericaBecause I'm looking at Kubuntu Active in a VM, I need a mouse pointer. The Plasma Active website tells me how to enable the pointer using the openSUSE and Balsam versions of PA, but not Kubuntu. How is that done?21:50
