[18:55] mijk: yes [18:56] did you install ubuntu using chrouton? [18:58] no [18:59] I used chrubuntu script [18:59] once will sort out few things I will remove chromeos totally [19:00] haha, that'd be good [19:00] I assume you're using the Samsung? [19:00] ARM-based [19:00] yes [19:00] okay, did you need to flash the firmware? [19:01] otherwise you would not ask on #ubuntu-arm right? [19:01] mijk: do what? [19:01] lol, just making sure, just making sure [19:02] flash the BIOS in order to go into developer mode [19:02] I read an article that mentions this [19:02] it is on other models [19:02] but it's talking in general about all Chromebooks [19:02] each chromebook has other way of going into developer mode [19:03] the ARM just needs the keypress to get to it? [19:03] arm one has it simple [19:03] kind of [19:03] press Esc+F4(aka Refresh)+Power [19:03] keep Esc until get white screen with some text [19:03] press Ctrl-D, then Enter [19:03] sth like that - I always check on web [19:06] that's all you need? [19:06] that's awesome then [19:06] I thought I was going to have to use git and compile a new firmware or something [19:06] no [19:06] no, I mean to get into developer mode [19:06] http://www.chromium.org/chromium-os/developer-information-for-chrome-os-devices/samsung-arm-chromebook#TOC-Entering-Developer-Mode [19:09] so I still need to get a read/write u-boot then? [19:11] no [19:12] mijk: http://marcin.juszkiewicz.com.pl/tag/chromebook/ maybe will give you some more info [19:16] I'll just use crouton for now to be safe :P [19:18] never used and do not plan to [19:19] chrubuntu is probably the best way to go but I don't feel like bricking my chromebook trying to get Ubuntu to boot natively ;) [19:19] you can't brick this device [19:19] in worst case you will restore it to out-of-box system === scrts_ is now known as scrts [23:45] I'm confused. According to my understanding TS running Precise armhf should support udf. i've installed udftools through apt-get but it doesn't seem to work. Linux 2.6+ kernel should support udf. Am I missing something? [23:46] EDIT I'm confused.
