wissamHi, ctrl + Esc stop working, I am using kubuntu 13.0400:33
littlegirlHey there, my son just installed Kubuntu 12.04 LTS after using the nomodeset option on the Live CD just to get it to boot. Now that Kubuntu is installed, when he reboots he just gets a black screen. We checked online and found that pressing Shift during boot should bring up the Grub menu so that he can set nomodeset to get in, but when he presses Shift, it says Grub is loading and then goes immediately to a black screen. Any advice01:13
littlegirlon what he should try next?01:13
littlegirlHe says it's actually a grey screen rather than a black screen, in case that's important. (:01:13
littlegirlThis is exactly the problem my son is having: http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1967091 The difference is that my son cannot access the Grub menu to edit it. Is there another trick to that besides pushing the Shift key during boot?01:18
littlegirlCan anyone help?01:24
santiagolittlegirl: press shift during boot?01:31
littlegirlsantiago: Thanks, but when he does that it says Grub is loading and then goes immediately to the grey screen.01:37

fractalinei have just logged out and in so i assumed all would be clear02:17
tsimpsongdebi is just for installing a package from a local .deb02:17
SonikkuAmericajalcine: I think so, but why would you want it (because the latest stable version of KDE automatically gets built for Kubuntu)?02:17
SonikkuAmericatsimpson: So is QApt02:17

nick87720zhi there05:26
nick87720zAt this day i tried to setup filters for mailing lists, bug trackers, etc. All filters just move mails to dedicated dirs. However some (same each time) mails return back to default incoming folder each time when i switch to some other folder and  back.05:29
nick87720zWhen this happens, kmail notifies about them as about new mails. They are really new — original messages are not moved from dedicated folders. When i repeat filtering, new messages are filtered, but on next switch between incoming/other folders problem repeats.05:31
nick87720zAll remote sources are empty, for local dir (which was used by claws-mail) i just disabled check.05:33
nick87720zany ideas?05:33
nick87720zbtw, on each refresh of folders with incoming messages it says to termial 6 times: kmail2(6573) MessageList::Core::ModelPrivate::findMessageParent: Circular reference loop detected in the message tree05:35
nick87720z-folders +folder05:35
nick87720zTried to remove all messages from ~/Mail using claws-mail and restart kmail, no rezult.05:40

shadeslayerdoes anyone have an idea how I can freeze a VirtualBox image ?15:09
shadeslayeri.e. restarting loses all changes15:09
shadeslayerall I could find is snapshotting15:09
shadeslayeryofel: ^^15:11
yofelshadeslayer: can't say I've ever tired it, but there is this "save machine state" thing in the close menu, let me check what that does15:12
shadeslayerthere is a option to snapshot15:12
shadeslayerbut I basically want what qemu -snapshot does15:13
shadeslayer( qemu is annoyingly slow :/ )15:13
yofelshadeslayer: uh, but that's what virtualbox does with snapshotting too? well, changes are persistent, but restoring a snapshot is like 2 clicks15:14
shadeslayeryofel: it's still 2 clicks :P15:14
shadeslayereasier to just reboot :P15:14
shadeslayerah well, I suppose I'll just use snapshotting15:14
