jya_hi thereā€¦ How do I make the mythbuntu control centre install 0.27/master?11:40
jya_ah, was just a matter of pressing the refresh button, and fixing permission on ~/.mythbuntu11:43
qwebirc29086tgm4883: Any chance you could take a look at the comments in this bug? https://bugs.launchpad.net/mythbuntu/+bug/118464314:12
tgm4883qwebirc29086, what about it?14:15
qwebirc29086could my suggested solution in the last comment be made to the 13.04 upgrade process?  I've got a bunch more machines I'd like to test it on14:15
tgm4883I don't know if there is any functionality to ask that a package get removed14:16
tgm4883I'd also note that it's recommended to stay on LTS releases of Mythbuntu. If it's Ubuntu+MythTV, then pulseaudio is already installed14:17
qwebirc29086ah, I guess that's something I could look into (remove a package)14:18
tgm4883The only way I know of doing it is via conflicts. Which wouldn't be a good use here14:19
qwebirc29086I've upgraded some machines to get the latest kernel which fixes issues with the hdpvr14:19
qwebirc29086pulseaudio is the only issue I've hit, that's why I figured I'd be worth fixing14:19
tgm4883New kernels are available in 12.0414:20
qwebirc29086the 3.5 or 3.8 kernel?14:20
tgm4883There is actually quite a fair amount of work that takes place to make that happen14:20
qwebirc29086just figured it be a rule that would need to be changed....I've never looked at the internals of an upgrade14:21
tgm4883qwebirc29086, to answer your earlier question, yes, 3.5 and 3.8 are both in precise14:26
qwebirc29086oh....is it done through a ppa?14:26
tgm4883no14:26
tgm4883it's right in the repo14:26
qwebirc29086I didn't know that.....cool14:27
tgm4883yep, that is done for LTS releases14:27
tgm4883I forget the package name, it's something like linux-lts-raring or something like that14:27
qwebirc29086so I'm assuming the next LTS would be 14.04....what would be the plan for pulseaudio in that version?14:28
tgm4883qwebirc29086, https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Kernel/LTSEnablementStack14:28
qwebirc29086cool14:29
tgm4883I'm unsure what the plans would be. Most likely we'll stick with an XFCE base and only depend on what we need to. Pulseaudio will probably still not be supported by MythTV unless they (pulseaudio) fix a few showstoppers14:30
qwebirc29086I think all my boxes are on 12.10 now so I'm kinda stuck :)14:31
qwebirc29086so you'll need to make sure upgrades from 12.04 to 14.04 don't get pulseaudio right?  I think they will at this point.14:32
tgm4883That would be the plan, although I usually recommend a fresh install14:32
qwebirc29086Maybe it's worth just leaving the bug there as a reminder and I won't worry about 13.04 upgrades14:32
qwebirc29086I can just remove xfce4-volumed myself before the upgrades14:33
tgm4883yep, that should do it14:33
qwebirc29086thanks, do I need to do anything with the bug or will you just rename it or tag it or something?14:35
tgm4883I'll handle it14:36
qwebirc29086thanks for the help14:37
