[17:59] New update with the icons --- https://www.wuala.com/Mishrito/Icons/?key=CRBaTkk2DEln [18:37] Mish: Not bad. The colors look nice [18:38] I had to think for a moment what the arrow was, until I realized it was a flash [18:38] So, it didn't hit me like lightning [18:39] And thought he pen is well made, for some reason I had difficulty seeing it as such [18:39] you mean seeing it in the 16x16 version right? [18:39] or do you mean recognizing it (cause that was supposed to be a pencil :)) [18:39] The brush for graphics is also a little bit hard to make out [18:40] Ah, yes. Pencil, sorry [18:40] I tried to choose shapes and objects that were non-invasive [18:40] If the brush had some hairs or something, a bit split, maybe it would be clearer? [18:40] and bring the main focus on the cololurs [18:40] but the shapes neep to be recognizable too [18:40] I think with the text, the icons would work fine [18:41] main trouble I had was with the pencil [18:41] I'm preparing a screenshot with them in the menus [18:41] But, if one wants to be pedantic, things could always be improved :) [18:41] also tried to keep similar colours separate [18:42] yes definitely, I'd like some feedback [18:53] screenshot -- https://www.wuala.com/Mishrito/Icons/?key=CRBaTkk2DEln [19:11] screenshot in a dark theme --- https://www.wuala.com/Mishrito/Icons/?key=CRBaTkk2DEln [19:33] Mish: I still suspect white foreground would look better. Did you try that? [19:34] Otherwise, the bg colors look nice on both [19:34] ok I'll do lighter foregrounds as well [23:26] what's the thinking on Mir/XMir for Ubuntu Studio? [23:32] GNUdru: We don't have our own DE, so it's not really up to us [23:33] do you get it from Xubuntu? [23:35] GNUdru: Yeah, basically. The XFCE desktop we have is originally imported from Xubuntu [23:36] and we still follow their work somewhat [23:36] Currently we are working at becoming DE agnostics, which would further remove us from that [23:36] zequence: according to http://irclogs.ubuntu.com/2013/07/11/%23xubuntu-devel.html it looks very iffy [23:37] GNUdru: May I ask the reason to your inquiry? [23:37] interesting, how is DE agnostisticism accomplished? [23:38] trying to plan ahead for what distro to focus on and recommend to other digital artists. generally i like Xubuntu quite a bit [23:41] i've been enjoying Ubuntu Studio 12.04.1 . i took a glance at Ubuntu Studio 10.04.x some time back and was intrigued and then came back to it. its pretty cool IMO [23:47] GNUdru: We are looking at how we can support more than one DE. And it may happen that we end up having no DE setup of our own, aside from artwork, and a few other things [23:54] that might be good zequence if it allowed U-S to focus on its strong points and let the upstreams do their thing. less duplication of effort
