LeoNerdI haven't found a bug or a missing feature in the last year00:10
LeoNerdFor me bzr JustWorks00:10
hachrewell, I guess it just looks bad00:12
lifelesshachre: there has been some dev - bug fixes mainly00:42
hachrehttps://launchpad.net/bzr00:45
hachrethe last release I see here is a beta from one year ago00:45
hachrethat's what I'm referring to00:45
hachreand before then there was a release every month00:46
hachrewhat happened?00:46
maxbhachre: If I understand correctly, the amount of employee time that Canonical devotes to Bazaar decreased sharply. Unfortunately that seems to have revealed that no-one else is doing significant Bazaar core dev.01:09
maxbI still like and use Bazaar, but I have to admit I wonder what its long-term future is going to be, given Git and Mercurial seem to be winning the popularity battle.01:10
hachreyea, I'm wondering the same01:14
hachreand I think it's detrimental by now for launchpad to be only supporting bazaar...01:14
ScottKIt's OK, ~no one is working on developing that either, so they are even.02:06
hachreyea02:26
hachrelol02:27
hachreI noticed that too02:27
mlischkehi, I have moved a number of files in my branch (manually) and now want bzr to update its internal references. So I tried bzr mv —auto, but that does not have any effect.09:07
mlischkeDoes this only work for single file changes?09:08
LarstiQ_mlischke: that should work for multiple files09:25
mlischkeI tried with —verbose but get no output at all, it just returns without effect.09:26
LarstiQ_mlischke: are you sure you're in the right branch?09:26
mlischkeI have now prepared a text file with all the mv commands and am running that.09:26
LarstiQ_mlischke: what does `bzr status` say?09:26
mlischkeI am, yes09:26
LarstiQ_mlischke: you want --after for that probably09:26
mlischketried that too09:27
LarstiQ_I mean for the text file you mentioned09:27
mlischkeThat file is only for easy search and replace etc. so I don't need to type all the commands.09:27
mlischke(doing it file by file)09:28
icebrainhi! Is there any way to branch a branch (ha) from Launchpad using HTTPS? It seems bzr is trying to use bzr+ssh, and my proxy doesn't like that09:41
mgzno, but you can use http09:44
icebrainmgz: sorry for the delay, I missed your reply. How can I set it to use HTTP?10:28
LarstiQ_icebrain: if you're not using bzr+ssh, you can comment out launchpad_username in bazaar.conf10:30
LarstiQ_icebrain: which then will have lp: resolve to http10:30
icebrainLarstiQ_: it doesn't seem to work. I get the message "You have not informed bzr of your Launchpad ID", but still "ERROR: Invalid url supplied to transport: "bzr+ssh://bazaar.launchpadd..."10:35
LarstiQ_icebrain: that soudns like you already branched something?10:36
icebrainLarstiQ_: well, not successfully, no ;)10:36
icebrainI've been trying to, though10:36
LarstiQ_icebrain: can you paste the relevant bit from .bzr.log?10:36
icebrainsure10:36
mgzicebrain: there's a trick to just getting the http url as well, if a branch is the main one for a project10:37
mgzfor example, use `bzr info http://launchpad.net/bzr` and take the branch url that give10:37
mgzthen you don't need to fiddle with launchpad login10:37
icebrainmgz: thanks, I'll try that.10:38
icebrainLarstiQ_: http://pastebin.com/raw.php?i=diGYYR7Y10:38
icebrainmgz: that worked, thanks!10:40
icebrainLarstiQ_: thanks for your help as well10:40
LarstiQ_icebrain: I'm a bit confused about that error. You don't have launchpad username set, you apparently do not have support for bzr+ssh (nothing to do with your proxy), yet it tries to use it?11:02
LarstiQ_ho hum11:03
LarstiQ_same happens here11:03
LarstiQ_but it does work for lp:bzr11:05

mathrick_hiya, I'm seeing TREE_ROOT rear its ugly head again, and I can't see why19:35
mathrick_namely, I tried joining a git-derived tree into a development-colo branch of mine, and it complained about same root19:36
mathrick_turns out both are TREE_ROOT, which baffles me19:36
mathrick_moreover, if I attempt to restart the branch by fast-export, fast-import, it turns into TREE_ROOT as well, even though a freshly init'd branch has a proper randomly generated root name19:37
mathrick_it's really throwing a spanner in the works for me19:37
