[00:40] darkxst: ubiquity has an icon in gnome-shell now, I attached a screenshot to bug 1203224 [00:40] bug 1203224 in ubiquity (Ubuntu) "Top bar in GNOME Shell should say "Install Ubuntu GNOME" or "Install" not "Ubiquity"" [Undecided,New] https://launchpad.net/bugs/1203224 [00:58] is there any way to get 13.10 classic mode to look and act ... classic? [05:11] hello friends! [05:14] hi [05:20] hi [05:21] iam downloadin ubuntu gnome 13.04 [05:21] amd64 [05:30] nice [05:30] I wish I could use 13.04. [05:30] 13.04 comes with kernel 3.8, which has given me a ton of grief on this laptop. It goes into a hardlock mode randomly. It's not a fault of Ubuntu Gnome, I've seen it with other distros using kernel 3.8. I'm on Ubuntu GNOME 13.10 alpha now with kernel 3.10 and it hasn't locked up a single time. [05:31] If I could use the LTS and use Gnome 3.8 I'd hop on that in a hot second, but it's not really possible. [05:41] roasted: my laptop had a problem with kernel 3.0(the one in ubuntu11.10 and every other linux distro at that version). My laptop would drain in half an hour and the fans would be running at extremely high speed [05:43] roasted: why does this happen have any idea ? [05:43] I have no idea. But I wouldn't be using 11.10 to begin with. [05:45] roasted: at one point of time it was the latest? [05:46] at one point, yes [05:46] kernel 3.10 was released recently [05:46] I wouldn't have a clue hwo to troubleshoot 3.0 as its an older kernel [05:46] roasted: i keep getting some crash report or the other on my laptop runnign ubuntu 12.04? [05:47] roasted: some or the other application crashes always, and i get this "Sorry Ubuntu 12.04 has experienced an internal error." [05:49] thunder1212: that's just apport thinking it ran into an issue in the background [05:49] you can disable that if you like [05:49] roasted: how? [05:49] sudo gedit /etc/default/apport [05:49] you'll see enabled=1 [05:49] change the 1 to 0 [05:49] save [05:54] roasted: do you know how i can have a window list on gnome 3 [05:55] roasted: where do the windows go when minimised? [05:55] thunder1212: they go to the dock, located in the activities overlay menu. [05:55] thunder1212: there are extensions available if you want them in your sight at all times [05:56] roasted: what do you usually do to manage windows just let them be in the activities lverlay? [05:56] thunder1212: I'm a huge alt-tab user, so I use that for the most part. [05:57] roasted: but when you have many windows open for same application then? [06:02] thunder1212: many windows open for the same application? Like what? [06:02] roasted: firefox [06:02] I only ever have 1 Firefox window open [06:02] just multiple tabs within that single window [06:02] roasted: or spreadsheet [06:03] roasted: ok i have downloaded ubuntu gnome 1304 and am transfering it to usb will reinstall and be back [06:03] Error: Gnome bug 1304 could not be found [06:04] bye [06:04] have fun [08:41] hi [08:43] Is Ubuntu includes the latest versions of Gnome Gnome 3? Is Gnome 3 has a panel that infomuje battery status? [09:07] hi [09:08] hi [16:30] devs - I'm curious on your stance with 13.10. I've noticed lately a lot less apport popups. I can only imagine more and more bugs are getting squashed. === tommie-lie1 is now known as tommie-lie
