shadeslayerRiddell: what exactly does "lightdm.conf add settings to turn off Mir" mean?00:13
shadeslayerwhy this is fun03:00
shadeslayeramarok on amd64 isn't compiled yet03:01
shadeslayer( in the beta ppa )03:01
shadeslayerapt's solution to that? lets remove amarok!03:01
shadeslayeryofel: ^^ plz don't directly upload stuff to PPA's :)03:01
shadeslayerand what happened to the proposed workflow of having -proposed PPA's03:02
=== ximion1 is now known as ximion
soeegood morning06:58
Mamarokshadeslayer: anyway, you guys promised 2.8 beta packages a while ago :)09:24
Riddellshadeslayer: d_ed said something about lightdm.conf being able to turn off Mir10:17
yofelMamarok: the raring packages were failing for a while because of dependencies being broken at bad times. For saucy it's in -proposed because of some qtopengl issues on arm11:09

agateauRiddell: I am not being very successful at getting my nm-split Ubiquity branch reviewed. Is it because it's summer or am I not using the proper communication channels?15:02
xnoxagateau: it's because reviews don't happen in real-time =)15:02
agateauxnox: I know, but it's like 5 days old now, since this project has people paid to work on it, I would have expected faster reviews (except if they are on holidays of course)15:04
agateauxnox: but then, maybe I am just being grumpy :)15:04
shadeslayeragateau: just keep highlighting xnox every other day15:05

* xnox /ignore agateau FTW =)))))) *giggle*15:05
Riddellagateau: I can take a look later along with the nm page15:06
agateauxnox: ok, partying in latvia is a valid excuse :)15:06
Riddellshadeslayer: did you look at his nm page?15:06
shadeslayerRiddell: nope, because VBox doesn't have wifi, and I don't have a USB dongle15:06
shadeslayerwill have to make a bootable disk and what not15:07
RiddellI'll take a look at that too15:08
agateauRiddell: thanks for the offer, but as you said, it's mainly gtk-code, so better get some review from other people (but if you can spot errors, it's awesome nevertheless)15:09
ScottKafiestas: I currently hae one battery at 100% and one at 47%.  Perhaps I can check it soon.15:14
afiestasScottK: okz15:14
leszek hi, we found a problem in kde-workspace's kcontrol/dateandtime/helper.cpp. See: http://forums.netrunner-os.com/showthread.php?tid=1086&pid=2272#pid2272 . The question that pops around in my mind is if its a general kde bug or distribution specific ?16:14
shadeslayerzic16:16
* shadeslayer runs away16:16
shadeslayerapachelogger: ^^16:16
shadeslayerleszek: it is an issue with zic16:17
shadeslayerI can't recall the details though, apachelogger knows more and it was on the Kubuntu Devel mailing list16:18
leszekshadeslayer: what I found out is that the helper.cpp is copying the timezone file from /usr/share/zoneinfo/<region>/<city> . But these files there are only symlinks to ../posix/<region>/<city> . So copying them to /etc/localtime would brake the symlink of course. So I am now asking myself if this is a general kde error or more like a distribution specific thing16:20
leszekso it would have nothing to do with zic16:21
shadeslayeruhm, I recall this being an issue with zic actually, or atleast that's what apachelogger said, but like I said, I don't know the details16:22
leszekok thanks. I will try ask in the other channels of other distributions. Because if they also use links in /usr/share/zoneinfo than it would make sense directly copying the original files from /usr/share/zoneinfo/posix16:24
kubotu::workspace-bugs:: [1206176] Powerdevil does not start, linking problem? @ https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1206176 (by aydin demircioglu)16:26
leszekshadeslayer: ok seems to be debian/ubuntu specific. At least opensuse does not use symlinks in that folder 16:39
shadeslayerok16:41
leszekuff even in the posix folder are symlinks. Hmm... this will be a hard one to fix properly I guess16:42
leszekah ok instead of copying qfile also can link a file. So not so difficult as I thought initially :P16:46
shadeslayer:)16:47
* shadeslayer hums as he waits for KDE to upgrade on Raring17:05
yofelI'll throw up .97 in ninjas for precise and watch what happens17:06
shadeslayerah yes, I was going to do that :P17:07
shadeslayerbut go ahead17:07
* shadeslayer will keep an eye on that17:07

shadeslayerI think it's lost17:15
markeythe version of ScummVM in raring is fairly outdated. it's version 1.4, but 1.5 has been released last year already17:25
markeyhopefully for kubuntu 13.10 the latest version of ScummVM, 1.6 could be provided17:25
Riddellmarkey: yes it has 1.6.0+dfsg-217:26
markeyoh great :)17:26

shadeslayerI am getting ftbfs mails already17:42
markeyshadeslayer: well I don't need it, I got a package right from their homepage17:42

Riddellagateau: what's the difference between kde-wireless and kde-wireless2 branches?17:44
yofelshadeslayer: ohshi....  kde-sc-dev-latest : Breaks: kdelibs5-dev (< 4:4.10.2) but 4:4.8.5-0ubuntu0.2 is to be installed17:44

shadeslayer_Hm I wonder if we can somehow specify optional build depends in Packaging20:32
ScottKNo.20:35
shadeslayer_yep, was just checking the maintainer guide, we can't :(20:36
yofelwasn't that doable by depending on "bar" AND "foo | bar" or so? I know I somehow did that in neon once, but it was really ugly20:54
shadeslayer_well20:54
shadeslayer_not the same case20:54
shadeslayer_I want : Is this build dep installable? nope? skip it20:55
shadeslayer_for eg see okular20:55
shadeslayer_it Build Depends on plasma-active-dev20:55
shadeslayer_which is not available in precise20:55
yofelwhat's what I meant, foo would be plasma-active-dev. But I think just using sed would be easier...20:56
yofelyou'll need to edit the install files too anyway20:56
shadeslayer_so something like : Build-Depends-Optional : plasma-active-dev ( which would be analogus to CMakes macro_log_optional_feature_or_whatever_it_was_called )20:56
shadeslayer_and the control file as well hmm20:57
yofelwell, as I said, you could try to trick the dependency resolve with something like "plasma-active-dev | libqt4-dev, libqt4-dev" - if you're lucky enough it's stupid enough that it works20:58
yofel*resolver20:58
shadeslayer_well one could wrap the package itself with Package-optional: active-documentviewer20:59
yofelwe have Package-optional?20:59
shadeslayer_I'm proposing we have a Package-optional20:59
ScottKNo.20:59
ScottKBeen discussed.  Not happening.21:00
yofelI don't think I quite get how that would work21:00
shadeslayer_oh21:00
shadeslayer_ScottK: where exactly? :P21:00
ScottKComes up every few years.  Probably debian-devel.21:00
ScottKUse a control.in and generate control if you need variable build-deps (or deps)21:01
* yofel triggers the next mail flood21:05
shadeslayer_/o\21:06
shadeslayer_yofel: quantal?21:06
yofelno, precise again. pkg-kde-tools was published21:06
shadeslayer_aha21:06
shadeslayer_I uploaded a fixed okular21:06
yofelmeh, now stuff is in dep-wait on kde-sc-dev-latest >= 4.10 -.-21:18
* yofel fixes meta-kde again21:18
* shadeslayer_ is waiting for Raring to upgrade to 4.10.9721:19
shadeslayer_Disk IO on VBox is horribly slow :<21:19
shadeslayer_:(21:35
shadeslayer_stupid cable is wearing out21:35
shadeslayer_yofel: upgrade went smoothly21:35
shadeslayer_for raring21:35
yofel\o/21:35
shadeslayer_but plz document in the release announcement that you need both backports and beta backports :)21:36
