kirklandppa builders are a bit backed up, eh?00:26
joakoIs there any way to download a archive from launchpad.net site directly?03:12
czajkowskikirkland: if there is something that needs a bump just ping webops03:58
czajkowskijoako: a mailing list archive?03:58
joakoczajkowski, No software code is what I wish to download but bzr is not working out for me04:05
joakoThe system doesn´t have too much ram but it seems that it needs size of repository ram otherwise the bzr download process fails04:06
shadeslayer_joako: you could dget the package I suppose04:32
wgrantjoako: http://bazaar.launchpad.net/~PATH/TO/BRANCH/tarball04:42
shadeslayer_oh wow04:43
shadeslayer_I did not know about that04:43
joakoit doesn´t work for me. I have this URL: https://launchpad.net/openobject-addons/+milestone/6.1 but I have an error here: https://launchpad.net/openobject-addons/+milestone/6.1/tarball05:17
wgrantjoako: That first URL is not a branch, it's a milestone.05:20
joakowgrant, I am not a programmer. All I know is from this site I wish to download the code so I can use it.05:20
joakoHow can I determine the branch of that milestone?05:20
wgrantjoako: The code branch is associated with the series. Click on the "6.1" link under the Series header, and you'll see a link to the branch on the right05:21
joakoWhere does series come from? This confuses me more05:22
wgranthttp://bazaar.launchpad.net/~openerp/openobject-addons/6.1/tarball05:22
joakowgrant, How can I determine that myself in the future?05:23
wgrantjoako: On the milestone URL that you linked there is a "Series: 6.1"05:24
wgrantClick the 6.1 link05:24
wgrantAnd you'll see a link to the relevant branch on the series page05:24
joakoWhat is very confusing is why on the page https://launchpad.net/openobject-addons/6.1 does it say ¨no downloads¨05:25
wgrantThe project hasn't uploaded any download files05:26
wgrantJust the code branch05:26
joakowgrant, but why then can I use the  hidden download link?05:26
wgrantjoako: That's a Launchpad feature that generates a tarball directly from the code branch. Normally the project owner would have uploaded a release tarball and maybe some pre-built binaries for end users to use; that's what the "no downloads" bit refers to.05:27
joakoThanks for trying to explain it. I still don´t understand. Sourceforge and svn make pefect sense.05:28
wgrantjoako: The version control system is for developers, not for end users. Project owners can upload files for end-users to download and use, but the people who run openobject-addons have not done that, so you have no choice but to use the developer-oriented version control system to download them instead.05:30
