brendandinfinity, https://bugs.launchpad.net/kernel-sru-workflow/certification-testing/+bug/1211934. sorry for the delay09:09

henrixsorry for the noise. it was just my ISP. again.13:14

rtgsmoser, I'm lookign at it13:47
smoserit seems to me like we're just not collecting up a uapi directory ?13:54
rtgsmoser, not sure yet, but it seems quite broken.13:56

hallyn_jodh: smb: fwiw, qemu-system-x86_64 on i386 should simply run a 32-bit guest iiuc16:36
smbhallyn_, Thats what I _heard_ but it made a difference16:36
jodhsmb/hallyn: where can we get definitive answers to these questions?16:37
hallyn_jodh: what questions16:37
smbhallyn_, I guest the one what is the expected behaviour doing qemu-system-x86_64 inside a 32bit guest. 16:39
hallyn_jodh: keep in mind that while i'm fighting it, debian wants to obsolete the /usr/bin/kvm wrapper.16:39
hallyn_make you use qemu-system-$arch16:39
hallyn_so if *that* turns out to be the problem (which I would doubt) then we shoul djust get rid of kvm :(16:40
smbhallyn_, Not sure this is also something that might get deprecated, but currently alternates sets up a qemu link that either goes 64bit or 32bit depending on the installation16:41
hallyn_smb: so are you implying that the first level guest is 64-bit on 32-bit, and second level guest thinks its pure 64-bit so does things slightly differently in kvm kernel bits?16:43
hallyn_smb: i shoudl shut up, you guys are making fine progress.  i will read through the bug tomorrow and see if i can jump in with anything.16:43
smbhallyn_, Well I can only guess what the host is (my guess would be 64bit). Which then starts an instance that is 32bit and using 64bit qemu binary to start another 32bit guest seems to do something weird at some point16:45
smbNot quite sure yet what, but somehow it seems to cause hangs on modprobe16:45
hallyn_smb: you mean host is 64-bit hw and 32-bit userspace?16:45
hallyn_otherwise why would it default to creating 32-bit guest.  never does for me16:45
smbhallyn_, Because you ask it to though openstack ami? 16:46
