ChogyDananyone know if nvidia drivers are working?04:45
wilee-nileeChogyDan, I have not seen anyone in general complain here regularly that they are not, with a variety of hardware and drivers a hard question to answer really.05:00
ChogyDanwilee-nilee: google seems to be saying they aren't.  O well!05:06
wilee-nileehardly a empirical source05:12
ChogyDanof course.  I think the raring kernel broke my webcam, so I'm thinking about upgrading to saucy.  But, I risk (given that I don't know) losing nvidia drivers for a period of time.  So, do I want my webcam? or my graphics?    I think I want my webcam actually.05:19
ironhalikDid I just saw ubuntu telling me my wireless mouse is low on power?!08:09
k1l_is it a 13.10 or not?08:09

ironhalikjust saw it for the first time08:11
ironhalikand I'm wondering if its new saucy feature08:11
DJonesk1l_: Is that something new in 13.10? I don't get that in 13.04 but had to boot into windows at the weekend and that gave me a notification08:11
k1l_i think its new in 13.04 or 13.10. i did switch to 13.10 very early and cant tell if it wasnt there before08:12
ironhalikregarding features. Any way to make dropbox work in 13.10? It won't start and nautilus crashes when I try to open the folder08:14
k1l_dropbox works here out of the box08:15
ironhalikhmm08:16
ironhalikk1l_: dropbox from the repos, or from dropbox site?08:16

DredTigerA couple of days ago I did a dist-upgrade to saucy from raring15:08
DredTigerOne thing I immediately notices is that the application and file search lenses don't seem to be active15:08
DredTigerHas anyone else noticed anything like that? Does my description make any sense?15:08
DredTigerAnyone here?15:27
holsteinDredTiger: yes15:30
NanduXyes15:30
holsteinDredTiger: if you have urgent support issues with 13.10, i would revert to the supported 13.04 version15:30
holsteinDredTiger: otherwise, i would try the normal user config issues.. test as another user, or remove the /.config files and test15:31
BluesKajDredTiger, if you did a dist-upgrade , then you didn't upgrade to 13.10 , if you did a do-release-upgrade then you're on 13.1015:34
BluesKajdo-release-upgrade -d , actaully15:35
DredTigerNot urgent...just wanted to see  if anyone  had similar problems15:35
DredTigerand had solved them15:35
BluesKajyou can turn them on , they may have been turned off during the upgrade by the package manager15:37
DredTigerBluesKaj: I updated my sources to point to saucy15:39
DredTigerand did a dist-upgrade15:40
DredTigerI just tried the do-release-upgrade and it says no new release found15:40
BluesKajwell, that's one method , but not recommended15:40
DredTigerSorry15:40
DredTigerI'm an old debian head :-D15:41
BluesKajdo-release-upgrade -d , is the command , the -d is development OS15:41
DredTigerthnx15:42
DredTigermissed that second line above15:42
DredTigersame result though15:42
BluesKajdon't be sorry , the system settings should help get your fileindexer started , and just type akonadi in the kmenu search to start the akonadi server for kmail etc15:43
BluesKajsystem settings>desktop search for nepomuk15:44
DredTigerI don't see desktop search in my system settings15:45
DredTigerI'm using the standard unity interface on this laptop15:45
BluesKajoops sorry thought you were on KDE , my mistake15:46
BluesKajI do that sometimes , ..on too many KDE channels :)15:46
* genii slides BluesKaj a coffee in a shiny new Kubuntu mug15:47
BluesKajone would think desktop search or nepomuk would be in system settings eb=even in Unity15:48
BluesKajyeah genii , thanks :)15:48
geniiAny time :-)15:49
BluesKajor is nepomuk a kde app , I'd better take a break15:49
phillwHi, just a quick question.. on the latest update to 13.10 I see "W: Possible missing firmware /lib/firmware/radeon/KAVERI_pfp.bin for module radeon" It will my 1st restart to the 3.11.0-3 kernel. Is this expected behaviour, or should I stick with 3.10.0-6 ?22:31
