elfyand it's a public holiday because it is ;)08:49
smartboyhwelfy, uh, I thought public holidays have a reason behind it08:50
elfythey do - no idea why this one is08:51
smartboyhw-.-08:51
elfythis isn't the US smartboyhw - we don't have days for the signing of the magna carta or the like08:52

alouriehello09:06
DanChapmanalourie: hey09:06
alouriehi DanChapman09:06
alourieare you familiar with autopilot?09:06
smartboyhwalourie, heh, DanChapman is the best guy working on it:P09:06
alourieDanChapman, smartboyhw: amazingf09:06
alourieI have the best luck ever09:07
DanChapmansmartboyhw: ;-P09:07
DanChapmanalourie: whats up?09:07
alourieDanChapman: why wouldn't I be able to install it on 12.04?09:07
alourieDanChapman: I want to check it out, so I'm trying to install it09:07
elfyalourie: I don't think it works below 13.0409:07
alourieelfy: oh09:07
DanChapmanalourie: ^^09:07
alouriebummer09:08
alourieDanChapman: was there a GTK version that did?09:08
DanChapmanalourie: I'm not sure if version 1.2 would still work on it, ask the guys in #ubuntu-autopilot if you need it to work on 12.0409:09
alourieDanChapman: I'm on elementary, and for now we're still 12.0409:10
alouriemaybe we'll move to 13.10 in the interim, but for now it's still 12.0409:10
DanChapmansorry bout that router decided to turn off09:16

smartboyhwNoskcaj, how's Testdrive?09:50
Noskcajsmartboyhw, nothing new. kirkland and roaxsoax haven't got around to merging my stuff.09:51
NoskcajDo you happen to have any experience with Qt or GTK3?09:51
DanChapmanNoskcaj: I have some Gtk3 experience09:52
DanChapmanNot Qt though09:52
NoskcajDanChapman, GTK is probably better. It's about porting testdrive to the latest "quickly" stuff, or in other words, make testdrive GTK309:53
NoskcajIs there any chance you could do that? or at least help09:53
DanChapmanNoskcaj: I'd be happy to help with that.09:54
NoskcajDanChapman, That would be awesome. I assume you know where the testdrive code is.09:55
NoskcajJust push it semi-regularly so i can have a look09:55
DanChapmanlp:testdrive i presume09:55
smartboyhwNoskcaj, em, maybe you should get DanChapman for some Autopilot test:P09:55
smartboyhwNoskcaj, em, you'd better setup another branch, if not DanChapman can't push09:56
NoskcajDanChapman, yeah09:56
Noskcajsmartboyhw, i mean to his own branch09:56
smartboyhwNoskcaj, heh:)09:57
DanChapmanNoskcaj, cool well I guess we should look at the todo list from the hackfest and see what we can add/fix as well. I will get started on it this week10:03
* DanChapman has just noticed ubiquity now has U1 page. No wonder its been failing!12:49
=== psivaa is now known as psivaa-afk
smartboyhwDanChapman, HAHAHAHAHAAHAHAH13:02
balloonshowdy all13:04
smartboyhwballoons, WE MISS YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!13:05
smartboyhwHow's your vacation?13:05
balloonssmartboyhw, it was nice to be away. I wasn't on a pc for days :-)13:06
smartboyhwballoons, so, what do you have in plan for this week?13:06
smartboyhwIt's not a cadence week13:07
balloonssmartboyhw, lots to catch up on, so that's the plan. first thing is vUDS13:07
smartboyhwballoons, then?13:08
DanChapmanballoons: howdy!13:15
arsonisthello, I'm trying to submit my hardware specifications, I already have the clipit link but do not know were to submit it. Should I send the clipit link or the lspci output? any help would be useful, thank you13:17
balloonsDanChapman, hello.. smartboyhw then? Well one thing at a time.. I need to catch up hah! Feature freeze is coming sooner than we think, that's probably the next big thing.. we'll be testing beta13:17
smartboyhwarsonist, see https://wiki.ubuntu.com/QATeam/Hardware13:17
DanChapmanballoons, when you have some spare time, (which I doubt you have after time away) can I chat with you about gtk emulator14:18
smartboyhwDanChapman, balloons http://smartboyhwubuntu.wordpress.com/2013/08/26/happy-22nd-birthday-linux/ :)14:19
balloonsDanChapman, sure, leave your thoughts here and I'll respond when I get some free moments. Have you had a chance to try using it?14:32
balloonsalso DanChapman meet senan.. He's working on an autopilot test for disk usage analyzer14:33
senanDanChapman: Hi14:33
senanDanChapman: I'm trying to automate disk usage analyzer14:34
DanChapmanballoons yeah its working lovely, its probably best you take a look at it first lp:autopilot-gtk-emulator. it has tests you can run to see it working.14:35
DanChapmansenan hey :-)14:35
DanChapmansenan so how have you been getting on with it?14:36
senanDanChapman: just started.. playing with vis to locate objects :)14:37
senanDanChapman: after clicking Scan Folder-> File chooser dialog will open..and I need to select one directory for scanning .. How do I select one folder ?14:42
senanDanChapman: for example I need to select "Documents"14:43
DanChapmansenan, ok with the FileChooserDialog we cant see inside either of the tree views. Notice if when it loads you press a key say '/' you can then click the toggle button at top left to display path bar. You then have to navigate by entering the file path14:46
senanDanChapman: But for displaying the toggle button we need to click somethiing inside the tree view right ?14:50
senanDanChapman: why we are not able to select anything inside the tree view ?14:52
DanChapmansenan, Ive just tried and it worked first time but not anymore. Hmmm... well you can click on the TreeView or Tab to it and just press down14:52
DanChapmansenan, I'm not sure tbh. pitti could probably explain why, but its a bit of a pain.14:55
senanDanChapman: Is it possible to click 'Documents' from tree view ?14:55
DanChapmansenan, No we can select_single('GtkTreeView') then click it but that will click the center of the treeview14:57
DanChapmananything inside is unavailable14:57
DanChapmansenan if you click on the Places treeview then hit Ctrl+f you can type the one you want15:09
senanDanChapman: there is also toggle buttons with label like <b>Videos<b>15:11
senancan I click on that15:11
=== _salem is now known as salem_
DanChapmansenan are you looking in the tree of the GtkFileChooserDialog? I can't see anything like that15:13
senanyes15:13
DanChapmansenan: is it inside a GtkTreeView?15:14
senanDanChapman: I'm not sure.. I saw that but Now I am not able to find15:17
senanI found 4 gtktogglebuttons15:17
DanChapmansenan, the only place i can find a label with <b></b> markup is inside a BaobabLocationWidget15:18
senanI saw <b>Videos<b>15:19
DanChapmansenan can you get a screenshot of where abouts you are looking?15:21
senanDan : GtkPathBar15:21
senanDan : how do I send the screenshot15:22
DanChapmanAhh the pathbar yeah you can click those, SO with the pathbar the button which has a label with <b></b> is the current directory you are in15:24
DanChapmanThey usually follow what you enter in the GtkFileChooserEntry15:25
DanChapmansenan, dnt worry about the screenshot i know where your looking now15:25
senanDan : Okay15:25
senanDan: can I access the buttons directly like this self.create_button = self.app.select_single('GtkButton',label= u'Scan Folder')?15:29
DanChapmansenan: yep thats correct15:30
senanDan : Thats not working for me15:31
DanChapmanwhats it saying?15:33
senanValueError: Object 'None' does not have any recognised position attributes15:33
senanin move_to_object15:33
DanChapmansenan try self.app.select_single(BuilderName='scan-folder-button')15:35
senansame error15:37
senanDan : http://paste.ubuntu.com/6029081/15:38
senancan you check15:38
senan?15:38
DanChapmansenan, its clicking the scan-folder-button fine its the selecting the toggle button causing the probs. Your trying to select it before its been created. You need to make sure the pathbar is present and you hav selected documents on the side first15:41
DanChapmanthe filechooser dialog opens to 'Recently Used'.15:43
senanbut the scan folder button is also not working15:45
senanfile chooser dlg is not opening here15:46
senanafter the btton click15:46
DanChapmandoes the mouse not move to it?15:46
DanChapmanWorks fine for me15:47
DanChapmancan you paste the terminal output15:47
senanmouse moved and button clicked15:49
senanhttp://paste.ubuntu.com/6029122/15:50
DanChapmanits talking about this one self.create_button = self.app.select_single('GtkToggleButton',label=u'<b>Documents<b>')15:51
senanohh..is it15:52
DanChapmanIts because the button is not there when the dialog starts to load so the test finishes before the dialog even opens15:52
DanChapmansenan yeah you have use self.create_button twice :-)15:52
senanBut even after commenting the code, filechooser dialog is not firing15:54
senanDan, It worked when I gave sleep15:56
senan:)15:56
DanChapmansenan thats because the tests finished.15:56
DanChapmanYeah exactly you need to keep the test going for it to load :-)15:57
DanChapmansenan this might help you a bit http://paste.ubuntu.com/6029165/16:05
DanChapmanIts gets you into the Documents folder you just need to sort out the selecting ToggleButton16:06
senanDan: Why I am getting self not defined error in dialog = self.app.select_single('GtkFileChooserDialog')16:17
DanChapmanis your indentation correct?16:18
senanyes16:20
DanChapmanis your tabs set to 4 or 8 spaces?16:24
senanDan: It worked16:27
senansomething went wrong when I copied from browser16:27
DanChapmanlol :-) cool16:27
senanDan, I took it beacuse I though it will be simple to write he he16:30
senanNow I understood.. its really complicated16:30
DanChapmansenan its really not too bad once you get your head round it.16:30
senanhmm16:30
senanDan, I've some NTFS partitions mounted...click_object(tree_view) is clicking one of NTFS drive :)16:34
DanChapmansenan are you trying to scann the Documents folder or a folder inside?16:36
senanScan the document folder16:36
DanChapmansenan this scans documents for me http://paste.ubuntu.com/6029289/ obviously you need to then process that the it displays documents usage16:40
DanChapmanSo I would change the sleep to assert the page eventually displays documents at the top16:41
senanwORKED :)16:46
senanThanks16:46
DanChapmanno worries :-)16:47
senanI'll complete the rest.. what is the use of lambda16:47
senanand (GtkTreeView)[0] ?16:48
DanChapmansenan i use it as a neat little way to select something and assert it at the same time. With the GtkTreeView, see how I have used select many? well that returns a list of all GtkTreeView objects in the dialogs tree so the [0] is the first one in the list so you access it by its index in the list16:50
senanOk Dan.. thank you very much17:00
senanOnce I complete this, what should I do next ?17:01
DanChapmansenan, your welcome :-) Well deja-dup and network manager still need tests so maybe them?17:07
senanNo. what I meant was do I need to upload it to somewhere ?17:08
DanChapmansenan, lol sorry it needs pushing to lp:ubuntu-autopilot-tests. Have you used bzr before?17:11
senanno17:14
senananyway it will take some time to complete17:14
senanI'll be able to work 2-3 hrs per day17:14
senanGood Night Dan17:17
DanChapmansenan cool well let me know when you are ready to upload it and i will walk you through. Good night17:17
Letozaf_balloons, Hi19:10
DanChapmanLetozaf_: hey o/19:15
Letozaf_DanChapman, hello19:16
balloonsLetozaf_, hello :-)19:22
Letozaf_balloons, hello19:23
Letozaf_balloons, I know you might be quite busy just after your holidays :)19:23
Letozaf_balloons, so I just wanted to let you know that the calendar app tests have been polished and work very well now (it wasn't me though)19:24
Letozaf_balloons, and that I am stuck on a thing on the rssreader app on the remove topic test, but do not think I can ask you for help today and while there is vUDS19:24
Letozaf_balloons, just wanted to let you know that I'm working on it19:25
balloonsLetozaf_, :-) thanks for the update! Today is a bit busy, but I will be looking at all those this week.. I owe DanChapman a good look at his emulator as well :-)19:27
Letozaf_balloons, ok thanks , maybe meanwhile I will find a solution :P19:28
Letozaf_balloons, I saw Martin's umockdev test on Shotwell for importing pictures19:29
Letozaf_balloons, cool!19:29
Letozaf_balloons, we could use it for the shotwell autopilot test :P19:29
Letozaf_balloons, if you haven't already done so19:30
balloonsLetozaf_, I believe he did so actually19:30
balloonsI haven't had time to verify it, but that was what I got from reading his post19:30
Letozaf_balloons, yes I ran the test, you're right! :P19:31
Letozaf_balloons, maybe because it wasn't in the autopilot tests branch19:32
Letozaf_balloons, but in the shotwell one, so got confused19:32
Letozaf_balloons, I was thinking to put this in the ubuntu autopilot tests19:33
Letozaf_balloons, Martin's test is in https://code.launchpad.net/~ubuntu-desktop/shotwell/ubuntu/debian/tests19:37
balloonsLetozaf_, ahh.. yes, that's possible.. dan's ubiquity test also lives in ubiquity's tree and not the autopilot tests project19:46
balloonsif there is upstream involvement it tends to live upstream.. just like the core apps :-)19:46
Letozaf_balloons, ah ok!19:48
