ScottKRiddell: the newer sip4 is known to break pykde.  it's mostly pykde's fault, but no fix available AFAIK.  To avoid it, sip4 needs a ~really downgrade, but the means python-qt4 and pyqt5 need downgrading too since they require the newer sip4.02:32

Riddellmy first talk was nerve wracking but it was commended as the best talk of the conference10:56
marcuspbairdI use to have a youtube channel 10:57
smartboyhwRiddell, :)10:57
Riddellkubuntu is the perfect extra-curricular activity and free software is the best way to study software10:57

smartboyhwRiddell, I do wonder how many support has the WithSupport team done currently:P11:49
Riddellsmartboyhw: how much? that's their business11:51
Riddellkde desktops will be new to them professionally, but they're all linux fanboys like us so they'll have used it in the past and all run it now11:52
Riddellsmartboyhw: but you can quiz vinay_ and rshort in person if you want :)11:52
marcuspbairdnods me two 11:53
marcuspbairdis there still the debate with meir and wayland 11:53

kubotuhttps://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/122066111:54
smartboyhwRiddell, I know. Will be very interesting to see how the promotion by different mediae worked out:P11:54
Riddellmarcuspbaird: we plan to use wayland, ubuntu desktop plans to use mir11:54
smartboyhwmarcuspbaird, cut off, we won't support XMir for now11:54
marcuspbairdI heard that11:54
marcuspbaird:) 11:54
smartboyhwAnd, since upstream obviously hates it, I don't think we will be using it for some time11:54
marcuspbairdwhat version 11:54
marcuspbairdok 11:54
smartboyhwRiddell, you want an FFe for this?11:55
Riddellsmartboyhw: yeah my feeling is for a FFe, needs investigation though11:56
Riddellsigh, virtualbox crashing the real box12:04
smartboyhwRiddell, for me, s/crashing/freezes/12:05
Riddellsmartboyhw: yeah that's what I mean12:06

Riddellis there a better location for upgrade instructions than https://help.ubuntu.com/community/SaucyUpgrades/Kubuntu ?12:09
marcuspbairdso have you gusy tested this installer yer 12:09

shadeslayeris it just me or does the guided setup not allow me to resize partitions12:41
smartboyhwshadeslayer, except if you have another OS, no12:41
shadeslayerI have Kubuntu on the disk12:41
shadeslayerbut it doesn't allow me to resize12:41
=== alvin_ is now known as alvin
BluesKajsha always use the manual partitioning the guided is clunky and lacks options 12:56
BluesKajshadeslayer,^12:56
shadeslayerBluesKaj: was testing out the i386 ISO12:56
BluesKajnods , of course seeing the guided option is good so you guys van fix it :)12:57
RiddellLANG = "fr_GB.UTF-8"  sigh12:57
BluesKajcan12:57
Riddellshadeslayer: it'll only offer it if it knows it can resize, maybe you don't have enough disk space to do so12:58
shadeslayerhmm12:58
BluesKajis there a method to renaming the /dev/sdXs on a disk I'm up to sdb8 on one hdd, with missing numbers in between... tried the new partition table command but that didn't seem to get rid of old unused assigned /dev/sd's , so now it's become kind of messy13:04
BluesKajprobly not the place to ask 13:05
Riddellyou'd need to mess around with partitionmanager or gparted13:06
BluesKajyeah , i have 13:06
* Riddell high fives jmux 13:13

smartboyhwRiddell, can't find the package anywhere13:41
Riddellsmartboyhw: well is it packaged?13:41
Riddellyofel__: good question, I've got in the habit of using pm-suspend, I'll test once this test install is done13:41
smartboyhwRiddell, I don't think so, but I need it to build Muon at it's fullest state:(13:41
yofel__Riddell: same here -.- (pm-suspend)13:42

ubottubug 1220193 in ubiquity (Ubuntu) "ubiquity kde frontend crash setting up wireless when ubiquity only" [Undecided,New] https://launchpad.net/bugs/122019314:05
agateauRiddell: damn :/14:05
Riddellagateau: I'm guessing it's not hard to make it fail gracefully if NM isn't running14:06
Riddellbut for the ubiquity only install we need to work out how to get NM running as that's the whole point14:06
Riddelllordievader: you did an OEM install on amd64 with oem-config running ok?14:07
agateauRiddell: I agree with both your points14:07
agateauI can have a look at it tomorrow14:07
smartboyhw\o/ http://dot.kde.org/2013/09/04/kde-release-structure-evolves14:07
lordievaderRiddell: On the image of yesterday yes. Was there a respin?14:08
lordievaderRiddell: However it had the bug that the oem user was present after running the initial config.14:08
Riddelllordievader: no respin, so maybe it's only in virtualbox or when no wifi is present or something14:09
lordievaderRiddell: I tested it in VB indeed, the vm had an internet connection.14:09
Riddellsmartboyhw: you got the scoop :)14:10
smartboyhwRiddell, :)14:10
Riddelllordievader: oh interesting, then I've no idea why I got it and you didn't14:10
Riddelllordievader: I was i386 you were amd64 but I don't see that should affect it14:10
lordievaderRiddell: At your side the oem user was removed?14:11
Riddelllordievader: I didn't get that far, oem setup crashed14:12
lordievaderI think that is the real issue, yes.14:12
lordievaderI wasn't sure if it was ment to disappear or that it crashed.14:13
Riddellnah it didn't just disappear it crashed with a crash dialogue before it started14:14

Riddellwell, more testing would be good, I don't trust images only I've tested15:22
Riddelland more testing on oem especially good15:23
smartboyhwRiddell, we're actually investigating if flavours are supposed to support OEM testcases-.-15:23
Riddellsmartboyhw: that'll be up to the flavour15:23
smartboyhwRiddell, no, we are meaning for all flavours15:24
Riddellsmartboyhw: it'll be up to the flavour to decide15:25
RiddellI'd like to support it for system 76 and anyone else15:25
smartboyhwRiddell, well, can't do the test today15:25
