[00:10] i was assuming that was already done, sorry [00:11] i've just uninstalled pulseaudio from the htpc [00:21] speaker-test? [00:25] speaker-test -t wav -c2 [01:06] Will it just keep going until I stop it? [01:07] I hear nothing, but I figured I'd let it run a bit. [01:07] yes, it will [01:07] ctrl-c [01:07] there is a commandline option for number of times, but the default is infinite [01:10] has someone tested what devices are available (aplay -l)? [01:12] [Tue 2013-09-03 04:26:24 PM PDT] how many entries in /proc/asound/cards ? [01:12] [Tue 2013-09-03 04:32:59 PM PDT] 2 [01:12] [Tue 2013-09-03 04:33:12 PM PDT] one labeled 0 [PCH] [01:12] [Tue 2013-09-03 04:33:21 PM PDT] one labeled 1 [NVidia] [01:15] DonkeyHotei, sorry, I transitioned between work and home there === Batshua_ is now known as Batshua === hpeter_ is now known as hpeter === hpeter_ is now known as hpeter === dahlSTROM|sleep is now known as dahlSTROM [15:42] omfg upgrading should be way easier [15:44] why would lirc_atiusb be gone if you can still pick the remote from the list? [16:39] sabhain, what release? [16:44] tgm4883: 12.04 .. seems like lirc_atiusb was dropped some time ago? [16:44] not sure, I don't use lirc [16:44] I'm upgrading from 10.04 or something like that, and bumping into the reality I need to get new remotes [16:45] been using snapstream firefly RF remotes since the beginning. [16:45] yea looks like it was dropped sometime between 10.04 and 12.04 [16:45] I don't suppose those are supported in the kernel now? [16:47] researching that now .. there may be some hope. [16:47] other option is flirc [17:28] tgm4883, do you know where the control centre pulls the hardware.conf information from if you pick a remote from within it? [17:28] I'm getting a script error when trying to generate a new hardware.conf [17:29] http://pastebin.com/yVRU8KGE [17:33] sabhain: try to just dpkg-reconfigure lirc [17:33] see if that helps [17:34] superm1: thanks very much [17:35] * sabhain needs to avoid using mcc as a crutch .. always trips me up. [17:35] i have an atiusb remote lying around i was hoping to put to use eventually [17:37] I've got 3 of these snapstream firefly RF remotes that are awesome. But not many of them out there anymore. [17:39] well mcc is supposed to be good for this kind of stuff, just stuff ends up breaking every so often [17:39] and rare remotes don't help that :) [17:39] hehe .. you're right. There's one guy over at ubuntu forums who apparently upgrades about 6 months earlier than I do, and it's common that he's done the leg work for me. [17:41] if it weren't for wanting to add some hd-pvr's to the mix, I'd probably stay on 10.04 forever. [17:49] well we're only supporting LTS now too [17:49] so there are things broke on the interim releases we haven't fixed [17:52] this might be one of those [17:52] actually MCC is pretty badly broke in 13.04 right now [17:52] it needs to be converted to python3. i started but it's too much work for me currently with other stuff going on === dahlSTROM is now known as dahlSTROM|sleep
