=== cdoublejj_ is now known as cdoublejj [13:58] HEllo [13:58] I am having issues with my soundcard [13:58] I cant find where to change the audio settings in lubuntu [13:58] open terminal [13:58] and run command: amixer [13:59] I just get some black lines [13:59] is there a tool with an interface that I can use? [14:01] Something that is not console base [14:01] that will allow me to switch audio channels on the fly via taskbar? [14:06] Is this something that cannot be done in this distro of linux? [14:06] should I try another one? Merci. [17:15] merci bot [17:55] hello could anyone give me answer what is minimum to run graphic mode in lubuntu? [17:55] I have graphic card only 8MB [20:25] Hey, Does anyone know how I can set Terra Terminal Emulator as default in Lubuntu 13.04? :) [20:26] plusEV: it's in the options... let me just go dig the setting out for you. [20:29] plusEV: once installed, it should appear in Menu --> Accessories [20:29] failing that, sudo update-alternatives --config x-terminal-emulator [20:31] phillw: Yea it is installed. But I want to set it as default. [20:31] ↑ [20:33] plusEV: I'm missing as what you mean as default? I launch my terminal via menu, the Alt-Ctrl-F1 is set by the kernel? [20:33] wxl: ok, I did that too. but it does not show up in the list. [20:34] /usr/bin/x-terminal-emulator -> /etc/alternatives/x-terminal-emulator -> /usr/bin/lxterminal [20:34] plusEV: if you look at Menu --> system tools, there are two more terminal emulators listed. [20:34] you should change those links and Ctr-alt-T in openbox [20:35] Works for me™ [20:36] vn151502510: did you alter the setting in Panel Preferences --> (Tab) Advanced to tell it the new path? [20:37] I do not understand :P [20:37] I mean default terminal of lxde is lxterminal [20:37] no, I mean, it is x-terminal-emulator [20:38] but in lxde, it links to lxterminal [20:38] so, change the dest to new terminal you want [20:38] so to update those links, sudo update-alternatives --config x-terminal-emulator [20:39] wxl: right [20:39] I want I do not understand what to change [20:39] plusEV: do this: [20:39] sudo update-alternatives --config x-terminal-emulator [20:40] ea I got that [20:40] now you should be good [20:40] but my Terra Terminal Emulator is not in that list [20:40] oh it's not in THAT list [20:40] well that's odd [20:40] yep [20:41] the fact it's not in the repos may be in part why [20:41] does it really matter [20:41] I've never really seen any benefit in changing that [20:41] I mostly alt+f2 urxvtc [20:44] I use lxterminal, very rarely do I need to need to access the Alt-Ctrl-Fn or use alt+f2. Quite possibly I mis understood the original request :) [21:08] mmmm, had to give some apt-get -f install when doing upgrade on 13.10 [21:10] That's not unusual. The repos are often in flux. [21:10] Make sure to add many ppas for more fun. [21:11] I have only flux added which does not exist with 13.10 :D [21:11] f.lux [21:12] bioterror: also, please be very aware of http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1859240 it is as true today as it was when written. [21:13] I always apt-get [21:13] pretty sure that wasn't the point :) [21:15] dist-upgrade can report errors back, if it does; please bear in mind that information. using -f tells the system to ignore any issues that the system perceives. I've never done that in my time in testing.
