[02:57] Noskcaj, yofel will look into the problem for your packaging "challenge". It seems that the timing of when to patch in debian/rules is mixing everything up:( [02:58] afternoon smartboyhw [02:58] that's what i though too [02:58] Morning [02:59] ;) [09:10] hi, icon tasks "show launcher when not running" is currently broken in saucy .... has anyone noticed this yet? [09:11] tester56, report bug upstream? [09:11] smartboyhw: can you confirm? [09:12] tester56, I can't do it now [09:12] okay ... can someone else confirm this? [09:19] oh ^^ : https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=324661 [09:19] KDE bug 324661 in widget-icontasks ""Show A Launcher When Not Running" does not pin a launcher" [Normal,Resolved: fixed] [09:21] tester56, heh heh:) [09:33] saucy will ship with kde 4.11.2 right? [09:34] tester56, I think we will [09:35] would be really nice, as 4.11.1 has a few noticeable regression already fixed in 4.11.2 [09:36] tester56, we will not ship KDE SC 4.11.2 with Kubuntu 13.10 Beta 2. I think we can only make it in for final release. [09:37] Beta 2 will be released the same day 4.11.2 is tagged (so for us it's impossible) [09:37] Final is what we can do. [09:37] shipping it for the final would be really important [09:42] another example for a bad regression: https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=324574 [09:42] KDE bug 324574 in kdeui "Application specific icon now doesn't work" [Critical,Resolved: fixed] [10:01] Hmm, we got arm64 to look out in the future [10:01] A new architecture in Ubuntu [10:06] yay, more work.. [10:07] tester56: fix for 324574 is in our packages [10:07] smartboyhw: mind cherry-picking the other one and uploading? [10:42] smartboyhw: +1 [10:53] yofel, laters, I need to take dinner soon [12:21] good morning [12:26] Good afternoon. [12:38] 'Morning folks [13:30] yofel, uploaded to archive (first upload as Kubuntu dev \o/) [13:33] hi everyone [13:33] Hello paul_ [13:33] I have problems installing kubuntu on my lenovo with win 8 [13:33] anyone can help? [13:33] i ve grub-install fatal error [13:34] paul_, this is not a support channel, #kubuntu is the place [13:35] sorry [13:35] i am new here [13:35] tx [13:38] smartboyhw: ack, looks fine. Additionally for you now: please tag the branch when uploading (just run 'bzr tag') [13:56] anyone know if the OpenGL library on Kubuntu is thread-safe? [13:57] yofel, ouch, tagging now [13:58] Tagged [14:01] tester56, I have uploaded the fix for the launcher to the archive, please wait for 1-2 hours for the package to finish building and publishing [14:02] thank you very much, I appreciate your work! :-) [14:02] I do sincerely wonder will it move to -release easily, now with arm64-.- [14:04] arm64 3 10880 jobs (2 weeks) [14:04] LOL LOL LOL LOL LOL LOL [15:52] * smartboyhw realizes that Riddell has sent the "smartboyhw has become a Kubuntu Dev" mail to sabdfl -.- [15:52] WHAT THE?! [16:49] smartboyhw: just installed it, great work! [21:54] hey, I have a PPA question: I have a daily build PPA - and I got an email saying: [21:54] Rejected: [21:54] File ktp-text-ui_0.99.0+git20130915+r1133-13~ubuntu13.10.1.tar.gz already exists in Daily Builds, but uploaded version has different contents. See more information about this error in [21:54] what does this mean in terms that a simple person can understand [21:55] the provided wiki page was useless [21:59] d__ed: you already uploaded a tar with that filename, now you're trying to upload a tar with the same filename, but different contents/checksum which isn't allowed [22:00] well it's magically fetching the content from git [22:00] and that's not been touched [22:00] then whatever creates the package from git needs to make sure that the version is different for every upload [22:02] :( I have no idea how that works [22:02] I thought it used the revision number. [22:04] hm, looking at that version it should, yes [22:04] maybe it generated a package with the same date and same version? [22:05] (can happen if yesterday's build is delayed till today and someone removes stuff from git and adds the same amount of commits) [22:05] ah, I pressed the build now button [22:05] and it possibly hadn't changed [22:07] ah, yeah, if nothing changed that will fail [22:07] aha [22:07] thanks! [22:07] * d__ed hugs [22:08] Virtual hugs are no fun [22:08] I saw people handing out actual hugs in barcelona today [22:08] though I did not hug due to the pathological fear of being mugged [22:09] aww, you could have had both! [22:10] that would have been good and bad at the same time [22:10] also, it was a prutty girl who was handing out hugs, made me even more suspicious [22:10] I shall see you in ~3 weeks \o/ [22:10] ooh [22:10] awesome ^_^ [22:11] hopefully she'll still be there :D [22:11] assuming we have similar taste [22:11] mugging people? who knows .... [22:11] I can go and check tomorrow on my way to the office [22:12] I randomnly talked to people walking out of my building and apparently they use ubuntu [22:12] I don't think I'll ever meet people who have never heard of Linux [22:12] aka Normal people [22:13] fun times were had last night though :P [22:13] didn't they say "no comprede, yo hablo espanol" ? [22:13] hah no [22:13] they were polish [22:13] and were living here for 8 months, but didn't learn spainish [22:13] *spanish even [22:13] they had just started taking classes [22:14] and thx to Quintasan I knew the one polish word for everything [22:14] and I just kept repeating that xD [22:14] lol [22:15] shadeslayer: do you mean kurwa? [22:15] yep [22:15] well, I can't argue with that [22:15] you can use this word for virtually everything [22:15] yep, they were surprised I knew the word [22:16] d__ed: house hunting is a huge PITA [22:17] where are you living ATM? [22:17] oh, really nice place near Placa Espanya [22:17] shadeslayer: what website are you using? [22:17] d__ed: https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/1435642 [22:17] d__ed: for more permanent accomodation? loquo [22:17] ta [22:18] d__ed: are you a light sleeper? [22:18] no [22:18] okay you'll be fine then [22:18] the train rumbles by and you can hear it [22:18] but if you're a heavy sleeper it should be fine [22:19] oh, I once lived next door to a railway [22:19] and cheap grocery supermarket near the roundabout ... [22:19] o_o [22:19] was no more than 20 meters away, [22:19] every morning at 6am [22:19] it would use it's horn [22:19] BAAAAAAARP [22:19] hehe, you'll be fine then [22:19] I could sleep through it [22:19] no lound horns, just rumbling during the morning [22:19] had someone over to visit once, they nearly died of shock [22:19] lol [22:21] d__ed: it's about 10-15 minutes of walking to the office [22:22] from where? [22:23] from the apartment to the office [22:23] what apartment? [22:24] I thought you were searching for one [22:24] I thought we were talking about the one I'm currently in :S [22:24] aha [22:24] this is just temporary [22:24] oh right. [23:49] Noskcaj: I had a bit of time to look at gambc. The problem is that 99_move_base_link_file is needed at runtime (because the .scm files are moved in the install file), but musn't be applied at package build time (at least not during the initialization) [23:50] So if you really want to port that to quilt, a seperate series file might make sense and selectively apply that patch by setting QUILT_SERIES somewhere during the build
