OvenWerkszequence: using a logo to pint to the website of the project the logo belongs to is pretty basic stuff. There should be no issue.01:10
OvenWerksi think it was David that did ardour 301:10
smartboyhwzequence, ping02:03
OvenWerkssmartboyhw: hello.03:42
OvenWerkszequence: ardour3 ends up in the media playback menu03:43
zequenceOvenWerks: No, it was smartboyhw who made it happen05:30
NoskcajCan someget the the latest ardour3 synced? It fixes an FTBFS on arm (hf and 64) and PPC05:44
Noskcajthe only other change is translation support05:46
smartboyhwNoskcaj, just use requestsync command?06:20
NoskcajI was just going to check with people here first, and yell at my brother till he stops using all out internet06:20
smartboyhwNoskcaj, LOL06:21
smartboyhwrequestsync running06:21
smartboyhwNoskcaj, er, it IS synced?06:21
smartboyhw23 minutes ago06:22
smartboyhwWTF i386 failure!?06:22
Noskcajnoooooooooooo06:27
NoskcajIt might be worth asking for a re-run of the build. But that's the same place that arm used to crash06:29
smartboyhwuch06:36
smartboyhw*Ouch06:36
smartboyhwHmm, failure also in Debian06:39
smartboyhwSigh, the not-so-important architectures' FTBFS are fixed, now the crucial one died-.-06:46
smartboyhwdied = FTBFS06:46
smartboyhwFortunately -release pocket is still OK09:06
smartboyhwOvenWerks, zequence pushed ardour3 addition of i386 and amd64 to the seeds09:06
zequencesmartboyhw: Ah, great09:07
zequencethanks09:07
smartboyhwzequence, I don't want any uploads to update -meta though09:07
smartboyhwNeed to get the whole thing fixed09:07
zequenceright09:16
smartboyhwzequence, the build failures are to be fixed in Ubuntu soon (thanks Laney)11:48
smartboyhwHurray hurray hurray, the build now does not FTBFS13:08
smartboyhwWaiting for it to migrate to -release and will update the seed entry13:09
smartboyhwNow in -release, let me update seeds13:19
smartboyhwzequence, I now request an update to ubuntustudio-meta;)13:20
smartboyhwmicahg, ^13:20
smartboyhwI think I have to file a FFe though13:20
smartboyhwBug 123565113:25
ubottubug 1235651 in ubuntustudio-meta (Ubuntu) "[FFe] Include ardour3 in ubuntustudio-meta" [Undecided,New] https://launchpad.net/bugs/123565113:25
smartboyhwYay, FFe acked13:56
OvenWerkszequence, smartboyhw: should we also fix -menu to put it in the right place?14:35
smartboyhwOvenWerks, we should14:35
smartboyhwOvenWerks, since you are the expert on -menu, I sincerely ask you to do it;)14:35
* OvenWerks notes that binary packages from the ardour website would auto matically be in the right place and wonders why debian broke tha.14:36
smartboyhwOvenWerks, I think they want to differentiate between Ardour 2 and Ardour 314:37
OvenWerkssmartboyhw: I will have to reboot :)14:37
smartboyhwOvenWerks, OK sure14:37
OvenWerksYeah but the ardour 3 packages from ardour have the recording category while the debian ones (both 2 and 3) do not.14:38
smartboyhwOvenWerks, because Debian runs on GNOME I think (dunno)14:38
OvenWerksI thiink it has to do with lintian14:39
smartboyhwOvenWerks, OK14:39
OvenWerksbut yes the "movers and shakers" are headed towards a menuless desktop.14:40
OvenWerks(that includes not just debian and unity but MS and Apple I think)14:41
smartboyhwOvenWerks, the fix for ubuntustudio-menu is to edit the /etc/xdg/menus/applications-merged/studio.menu file?14:42
OvenWerksyes14:42
OvenWerkstwo places14:42
OvenWerksAre you about to do so, or am I goiing to do it?14:42
smartboyhwOvenWerks, about to do so (doing actually)14:42
OvenWerksOk, I won't :)  Thank you14:43
OvenWerksFamily life has been pretty busy lately. Birthdays, Aniversary and my wife has her grad this week.14:44
smartboyhwOvenWerks, revision 86 pushed to lp:ubuntustudio-menu, would you please check. 14:44
smartboyhwOvenWerks, nice:)14:44
OvenWerksLP is slow today14:47
smartboyhwOvenWerks, :(14:48
OvenWerksopps14:52
smartboyhwOvenWerks, ?14:52
OvenWerksthe first line you changed seems to be missing the </filename> at the end of the line14:52
smartboyhwOvenWerks, uh oh, let me fix14:53
smartboyhwOvenWerks, revision 87 pushed14:54
OvenWerksOK, I pass it then. Looks good to me14:57
smartboyhwmicahg, please update -meta and upload -menu then:)14:57
OvenWerksLooking at your first change I see you added a space in front of the first line. Was that intentional?14:59
smartboyhwOvenWerks, not really, just that it fitted my tab width on gedit-.-14:59
OvenWerkshttp://bazaar.launchpad.net/~ubuntustudio-dev/ubuntustudio-menu/ubuntustudio-menu/revision/8614:59
OvenWerksis where I saw that.14:59
OvenWerksI don't know if that breaks the menu or not.15:00
smartboyhwOvenWerks, huh?15:00
smartboyhwThat's not intentional15:00
OvenWerkslet me check15:00
smartboyhwOvenWerks, any how, pushing rev. 88 to fix15:01
smartboyhwpushed'15:02
OvenWerksDoesn't seem to make any difference anyway... which because it is xml makes sense... but thankyou.15:03
smartboyhwThe last feature of Ubuntu Studio 13.10:P15:04
OvenWerksI think by 14.04 we will have tested ardour 3 enough that 2 will not be needed. But not really my decision :)15:06
smartboyhwOvenWerks, I do hear that Ardour 2 sessions can't be opened in Ardour 3... Probably nice to keep it for 14.04 LTS, then dump it for 14.10.15:08
smartboyhwOvenWerks, hey, you are the second in-hand here;)15:08
smartboyhwNo.1 is zequence, No.2 is you:P15:08
OvenWerksArdour 3 can inport ardour 2 sessions, just not the other way around.15:08
OvenWerksonce you open an ardour 2 session with ardour 3 you can't open the same session with ardour 215:09
smartboyhwYes, that15:09
cubDo we include applications that is not in Debian or Ubuntu repos?17:38
cubzequence, what kind of licensing issues are there with the name and artwork? I've heard that it's a bit unclear on who created the logo, but are there more?17:46
OvenWerkscub: so far as I know, the apps have to be in the ubuntu repos to be on the ISO.17:50
OvenWerksThe iso builder has to be able to find them after all17:50
cubI thought so. I was looking at the email about supercollider17:51
cubbut a quick check it seems to be on a ppa only17:51
OvenWerksThere is nothing to stop us from adding apps to our extra installers that require outside ppa access17:51
cubaha17:52
OvenWerksIn fact there already are some :)17:52
cubreally? do you know which ones?17:52
OvenWerksThey just don't show up untill the user adds a ppa with the package in it17:52
OvenWerksI know some of the non- stuff is in there like non-mixer etc.17:53
OvenWerksI have also tried to make sure that these apps would end up in the right menu if they are installed17:54
OvenWerkslinux-sampler may be there too17:54
OvenWerksOn the same note anyone who installs SW that ends up in the wrong menu, should tell us where it shows up, where it should be (or at least what the SW does) and what the name of the desktop file is.17:57
cubcool17:58
cubthose non- applications look really nice. have you tried them OvenWerks ?17:59
zequencecub: Actually, I think we already include supercollider18:15
zequenceOr we used to anyway18:15
zequenceI added it myself a few cycles back18:15
cubhehe there you go18:16
zequenceBut, there has been some big changes/additions since then18:16
zequenceThis is why we need someone who does the application choice part18:17
zequencefor each workflow18:17
zequencewho knows what else we are missing18:18
cubyeah I hope to get some time back soon to dig in18:19
cuban apt-cache search show supercollider18:23
cubhmm I just assumed it wasn't there since he asked to include it18:23
cuband the first google link went to a ppa18:23
zequenceNo, we don't include it18:24
zequenceCant' find me adding it either18:25
zequenceSo, I guess I didn't do that then?!18:26
zequenceWell, we should18:26
zequencefor next cycle18:26
cuban apt-get install supercollider would install it. 18:28
cubso easy enough to include i suppose18:28
cubIt seems Orca has not listed speech-dispatcher as a dependcy since the user might not want to use speech at all, but just braille. Also there are several other speech syntheses to choose from and one should be chosen during installation. So I would need to add it just as I did with brltty to be able to run it on the ISO and during installation.19:02
