[11:56] morning all [11:57] https://code.launchpad.net/~rick-rickspencer3/+junk/DCBusit [13:36] morning [13:36] o/ ChinnoDog [13:36] There is now vUDS? [14:31] morning [14:31] rickspencer3: ...and what's UDS? [14:31] should i already know? [14:31] adom, Ubuntu Developer Summit [14:31] ahhh [14:31] cool [14:31] it's when we get together and discuss the next release [14:32] did you guys see my Metro bus app for the phone? [14:32] saw the link, havent checked it yet [14:33] hey, didnt Ubuntu Touch just release stable? [14:33] like, last week [16:15] adom: Wouldn't cal it "stable" but it's a usable image, it'll def get lots of heavy updates this cycle though [16:27] marcoceppi: gimme a guesstimate as to when I'll be able to install Ubuntu Touch on my mainstream Android phone and use it day-to-day. [16:27] by mainstream phone, let's say I get the new Nexus 5. [16:28] (which i'm planning on and we should all discuss because wow its amazing and only $350 without contract) [16:28] adom: no idea, but soon. Nexus 4 version of the site does a pretty good job so far as I understand [16:28] * marcoceppi is cloud/server has no idea [16:28] marcoceppi: fair enough [16:29] adom: rickspencer3 should know ;) [16:29] rickspencer3: any idea on when a day-to-day usable release of ubuntu touch might be available for download? [16:29] also, is Ubuntu doing dev on the new Nexus 5 yet? j/c [16:29] adom, I think it already has been [16:29] that was 13.10 [16:30] I have been using Ubuntu as my only phone for a month or two [16:30] but as of last week, it works quite well [16:30] it lacks a few features, but nothing blocking you from using it [16:30] rickspencer3: oh. wow, nice. [16:30] i have a Samsung GS3, can I install it? [16:31] adom, well, could be, if there is a community port [16:31] the ports are nice, but really not close to the official Nexus 4 image [16:32] honestly, if you don't have a Nexus 4, it would be hard to use it as your only phone, I think [16:49] rickspencer3: fair enough. [16:49] any progress on the nexus 5 yet? or is it still too early? [18:37] adom, sorry, I didn't see your question [18:38] adom, we haven't picked a new reference platform yet [18:56] rickspencer3: oh. i was hoping Nexus 5 would be an assured platform for Ubuntu Touch in the future. maybe not refernece platform, but I assumed there'd be at least support for the hardware. [18:56] it might be [18:56] just not sure yet [18:56] fair enough [18:57] im still pretty sure I'm getting one. $350 without a contract with great hardware, you can't beat that in my book. [18:57] although ill probably spring for the larger storage memory one for more [18:58] im psyched. my anticipation stems mostly from the dream of leaving TMobile i have to admit. [18:58] its not that bad up where I'm from, but once we moved down here, it became a wifi tablet in my pocket pretty much. [18:59] thinking I'll switch to Verizon. gf and I have been planning on starting a new share plan rather than seperate plans. Verizon seems to have great coverage around here and i've been told their 4G LTE is the fastest (or at least it usually beats AT&T's) [19:00] glad to hear from anyone about their provider and the coverage/speed they get [19:39] What does anyone make of the prices on http://cloudatcost.com/? [19:39] Will they be in business longer than 5 minutes? [19:44] adom: I bet you cannot beat those rates.
