[01:07] Howdy, folks. I'm running Ubuntu 13.10 (just upgraded), and I've been running GNOME 3 for a while from the PPA (http://ppa.launchpad.net/gnome3-team/gnome3-staging/ubuntu). My question is: am I missing out by not running Ubuntu GNOME? If so, is there a way to install it over my current distro without having to install the machine from scratch? [01:11] you are already running it [01:13] bjsnider: fantastic....any extras I should consider? I'm having a good experience, but I just don't want to miss out on anything [05:31] Hi guys [05:31] I am new to Gnome [05:32] I was wondering How do I check which version of gnome I am on? [11:07] newbee, at the cli, typ gnome-shell --version === enigma is now known as Guest43585 [15:50] I need suggestions for a couple of things: [15:52] 1 - I have been using gksudo for graphical superuser and o noticed that I need to load gksu in 13.10....has there been a change? [15:53] 2 - I used ubuntu tweak and it had a function of cleaning up old or unused files, it was called janitor....is there an equalivent? === Chrisfu is now known as PerryMason === PerryMason is now known as Chrisfu [22:36] DavidBrooke: you could just use Ubuntu Tweak [22:52] Hi all! I just upgraded to 13.10 and my left control key seems to no longer be working. I've already checked to make sure I'm still using a English (US) keyboard, and no hotkeys appear to be set to it alone. Any idea what the cause might be? [22:53] It still seems to respond for hotkeys, but copy/paste, etc don't work. It's flashing an overlay of a "no" symbol if I press it alone. [23:03] russsharek: perhaps you accidentally bound left control to a different key in keyboard settings [23:04] It seems to be this bug, but I can't find a fix or workaround: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/compiz/+bug/936840 [23:04] Ubuntu bug 936840 in Compiz 0.9.8 " key now known as which breaks keyboard shortcuts" [Undecided,Triaged] [23:05] It's supposedly patched by now, but the problem appeared on upgrade from 13.04 to 13.10.
