[03:12] hi, with fresh install of 13.10, locking screen will make the monitor enter power saving mode directly (turn off the monitor). How can I fix this problem? thanks. [09:37] Good morning [10:13] morning === yofel_ is now known as yofel [11:54] hi, does someone kknow if it is possible to add an ubuntu one account to "online accounts" in 13.10? [17:41] :-) [21:48] Hello. I have a trouble after installing nvidia proprietary driver in Ubuntu Gnome. It freezes on splash screen. [22:17] well that's reassuring [22:17] I was just about to install the nvidia driver since nouveau seems to be a bummer on this machine with gnome :/ [22:20] hey all, is there an upgrade path from 3.8 -> 3.10 besides the ppa method described here: http://askubuntu.com/questions/358989/install-gnome-3-10-in-ubuntu-13-10-without-breaking-unity [22:21] I don't believe so [22:21] for right now those two PPAs are needed [22:21] roasted: so the last time i tried this i ended up with quite a large number of warnings during the process [22:21] oh [22:22] I'm not sure. I'm on 3.10 on 3 systems :/ [22:22] ah [22:22] conanjen, 3.10 will break Unity for now [22:22] darkxst: so i'm fine with that [22:22] i'm running ubuntu gnome anyway [22:22] the only real need i have for 3.10 right now is dpi scaling [22:24] conanjen, HiDPI support was not finished in time for 3.10 [22:26] ah. any suggestions for hidpi in the meantime? [22:35] conanjen, not sure if there is anything you can do [22:35] other than wait for 3.12 [23:23] holy freakin wow [23:23] nvidia proprietary drivers are wickedly faster [23:24] you know one thing that makes the message tray borderline useless [23:25] is the fact that when you super + M it to bring it up, then hit enter over your highlighted entry, you STILL have to get your mouse, point the cursor, and click in the text box [23:25] that text box should absolutely gain focus immediately, otherwise it takes away from the keyboard-centric capabilities of it all [23:25] in fact, where can I suggest that. is there an official feature request forum for ubuntu gnome? Or do I just submit a bug report? [23:26] it does however auto focus the cursor in the text box if you bring up the chat notification in the center of the screen once it's received [23:26] but if you do that AFTERwards from the message tray menu itself then it does not [23:58] roasted, file that upstream on http://bugzilla.gnome.org/
