adyzxhope it ain't off-topic, but looking for a robust gui email client for lubuntu04:03
adyzxany suggestions?04:03
adyzxtried mutt but the learning curve is a bit steep for me right now :)04:04
Unit193sylpheed, thunderbird, geary, alpine, etc.  Mutt is technically TUI (as is alpine.)04:06
Unit193claws-mail exists too, but it's somehow related in sylpheed in some way, IIRC.04:07
adyzxUnit193: will read up. what's your fav client?04:09
Unit193I use either alpine or gmail, though thunderbird isn't bad, just heavy.04:09
adyzxUnit193: yes. I see geary uses gnome04:10
Unit193I didn't like the UI either, too basic so isn't for me.04:10
adyzxUnit193: looking at screenshots claws-mail UI looks sharp.04:12
adyzxUnit193: sticking with lubuntu's default for now: sylpheed04:15
adyzxUnit193: thanks04:15
Unit193Alrighty-o.04:15

RyoshiaI was using http://andym3.wordpress.com/projects/the-broadcom-wireless-card-guide/ to get my wireless card up and running and it tells me that b4=fwcutter isn't a command20:29
Ryoshiab4-fwcutter*20:29
geniib4320:31
Ryoshiadoh will try that real fast20:40
Ryoshiasudo: b43-fwcutter command not found20:44
Ryoshiais what was said20:44
RyoshiaEvery other command worked up until that one20:46
geniiRyoshia: What says the result of: apt-cache policy b43-fwcutter20:46
Ryoshiaunable to locate package20:47
Unit193It's in main, is this a new install, and it is actually lubuntu?20:48
Ryoshiayeah it's Lubuntu on a Dell Vostro A90..20:49
Ryoshiathe Wireless didn't work so I have to get the drivers enable which is kind of tough to do without Ethernet20:49
Unit193Yes, I've done it before.  So, b43-fwcutter isn't installed by default, but it's on the live CD as a deb, and it should be in the repo (apt-cache policy b43-fwcutter), I suppose maybe since you haven't run apt-get update somehow it's very minimal.20:50
Ryoshiaso you mean I'll have to plug the Live USB in and type apt-get update?20:53
Unit193Not quite, the file is under pool/main/b/b43-fwcutter/b43-fwcutter_017-2_amd64.deb20:54
RyoshiaWOOHOO it worked!20:59
Unit193I'm lazy, I have a firmware-b43 package. :P21:00
Unit193(Also great for backup, in case something happens.)21:00
ianorlinis it on alt installer as a deb?21:17
Unit193Should be.21:18
RyoshiaI doubt much will happen I was doing this for a guy that comes into burger king all the time21:18
Ryoshiahe's an old guy and was using Ubuntu 8.04 and wanted something more up to date21:19
RyoshiaI couldn't put Ubuntu 12.04 on his computer because it only have like five gigs of HDD space.. -_-21:19
Unit193Erm, well then.21:20
Ryoshiakind of depressing if you ask me..21:20
