[04:03] hope it ain't off-topic, but looking for a robust gui email client for lubuntu [04:03] any suggestions? [04:04] tried mutt but the learning curve is a bit steep for me right now :) [04:06] sylpheed, thunderbird, geary, alpine, etc. Mutt is technically TUI (as is alpine.) [04:07] claws-mail exists too, but it's somehow related in sylpheed in some way, IIRC. [04:09] Unit193: will read up. what's your fav client? [04:09] I use either alpine or gmail, though thunderbird isn't bad, just heavy. [04:10] Unit193: yes. I see geary uses gnome [04:10] I didn't like the UI either, too basic so isn't for me. [04:12] Unit193: looking at screenshots claws-mail UI looks sharp. [04:15] Unit193: sticking with lubuntu's default for now: sylpheed [04:15] Unit193: thanks [04:15] Alrighty-o. === MrGarlic_ is now known as MrGarlic === io is now known as IdleOne === Myrtti_ is now known as Myrtti [10:51] Hi. Why lubuntu team don't wonna use Thunar as default fime manager? [10:53] because thunar from xfce. [10:54] pcmanfm is part of lxde [10:56] sad, best fm for me (regexp search, custom menu items) just love it [10:59] of course its not hard to change fm, it would be nice to have Thunar default [14:04] Hi === SonikkuAmerica is now known as S-USA === S-USA is now known as SonikkuAmerica [14:31] hi [14:56] <_joey_> how do toggle between desktops in lubuntu? === _joey_ is now known as _joey [15:03] _joey: change workspaces you mean? === PRIVMSG is now known as Private_User [15:32] <_joey> yes [15:49] Ctrl-Alt [15:49] _joey: ↑ [20:29] I was using http://andym3.wordpress.com/projects/the-broadcom-wireless-card-guide/ to get my wireless card up and running and it tells me that b4=fwcutter isn't a command [20:29] b4-fwcutter* [20:31] b43 [20:40] doh will try that real fast [20:44] sudo: b43-fwcutter command not found [20:44] is what was said [20:46] Every other command worked up until that one [20:46] Ryoshia: What says the result of: apt-cache policy b43-fwcutter [20:47] unable to locate package [20:48] It's in main, is this a new install, and it is actually lubuntu? [20:49] yeah it's Lubuntu on a Dell Vostro A90.. [20:49] the Wireless didn't work so I have to get the drivers enable which is kind of tough to do without Ethernet [20:50] Yes, I've done it before. So, b43-fwcutter isn't installed by default, but it's on the live CD as a deb, and it should be in the repo (apt-cache policy b43-fwcutter), I suppose maybe since you haven't run apt-get update somehow it's very minimal. [20:53] so you mean I'll have to plug the Live USB in and type apt-get update? [20:54] Not quite, the file is under pool/main/b/b43-fwcutter/b43-fwcutter_017-2_amd64.deb [20:59] WOOHOO it worked! [21:00] I'm lazy, I have a firmware-b43 package. :P [21:00] (Also great for backup, in case something happens.) [21:17] is it on alt installer as a deb? [21:18] Should be. [21:18] I doubt much will happen I was doing this for a guy that comes into burger king all the time [21:19] he's an old guy and was using Ubuntu 8.04 and wanted something more up to date [21:19] I couldn't put Ubuntu 12.04 on his computer because it only have like five gigs of HDD space.. -_- [21:20] Erm, well then. [21:20] kind of depressing if you ask me.. === Newk_ is now known as Newk === Newk is now known as Guest60669 === Guest60669 is now known as Newk_ [23:34] hello frinds on the left corner down is the bouton for starting programms [23:34] right from it are some shortcuts to pcfm and chromium how can i change this shortcuts [23:35] right click and then go to appliaction bar settings [23:38] thx a lot worked well [23:38] helped much thx
