skellatNotez Bien: There may be a last minute agenda change for tomorrow night's meeting where I open with a statement.  I haven't decided yet.04:57
Unit193Oh heh, forgot about the thing today. :D19:40
Unit193cid420_: Howdy again!19:40
skellatUnit193: Meeting at 8 PM20:37
Unit193Yep, that one.20:37
Unit193skellat: cid420_ is looking to join the LP page, you spoken to him yet?20:37
skellatPossibly not...between running an election this week and then having to write up an outright analysis of the results I might have missed that20:38
skellatcid420_: To join Ubuntu Ohio you need to sign the Ubuntu Code of Conduct.  A screencast showing how to do so can be found at http://screencasts.ubuntu.com/2010/12/22/004-SigningCoC and if you are running 13.10 or later the package "code-of-conduct-signing-assistant" can walk you through that.  Once that is done please e-mail me and I will move you from Proposed to Approved.20:41

Unit193skellat: Email or ping here?20:42
skellatE-mail is best20:42

belkinsaDid we gain a new member?20:47
Unit1933 pending, 1 is here.20:47
belkinsaOh good, we need more fresh meat.20:47
Unit193Eh, I think the concept is somewhat dead.20:48
belkinsaFor the team?  yeah, I think so.20:49
skellatWhich concept?20:49
Unit193I still wonder where some of the poeple went when I first joined.20:49
belkinsaHow long ago was that?20:49
Unit1932008, IIRC.20:50
Unit193Left for a bit.20:50
belkinsaI joined in 2009, and left for two years.  Now I'm back20:50
belkinsaAnd with more action then before.20:51
skellatStarted out in Nevada, spent some time in openSUSE country, came back once after I returned to Ohio in 200920:51
Unit193I think mine was back in 2010.20:52
belkinsaUbuntu was my first Linux ditrso that I used in 2009, but knew about Linux maybe a few years before from a Take your Child to Work Day at P&G.20:53
skellatI tried Mandriva first20:53
Unit193Actually, may have to make that earlier than 2008?20:53
skellatUnit193: Your current pseudonym only joined Ubuntu Ohio in 2011.  You were known by a different name & account prior to then.20:56
Unit193Nope.20:57
Unit193I didn't do LP, doesn't mean I wasn't here.20:57
paultagHeh, yeah, I used Mandrake since 200120:57
paultaguntil I switched to Gentoo, Fedora, Debian Ubuntu and now Debian again20:58
skellatI had a hurried phone chat with Aaron Toponce last night20:59
belkinsaWhat did you guys talk about?20:59
skellatThankfully Launchpad was down when his intention were stated in his blog.  He happened to be a team owner for some LoCo assets.  We had to discuss getting those switched around so things didn't break.  The worst case scenario we had to avoid was LoCo Council owning a team yet again and it looks like we did.21:01
skellatI did bid him "fair winds and calm seas" in whatever his new adventures may bring.21:02
belkinsaAh.  I read his last post in his blog and  that's what got me to look into the issue.21:03
belkinsaThat retweet was the second.21:03
skellatYeah, I mostly wished him well and just tried to ensure a clean transition as he made his exit.21:03
Unit193He has done things about irssi, so been to his blog a few times.21:04
belkinsaThat's good that you did that, because I feel like I'm going through one but I'm not a Ubuntu member.  I just want to say with the community since I'm dong thing in it to help others who need the help.21:06
Unit193The flavors aren't total crap, yet, so I'm still here for now and helping out.21:06
skellatBhavani Shankar and I discussed this earlier21:07
paultagI just help the 73% of the OS that no Ubuntu'er even touches :>21:07
belkinsaWho?21:07
skellatA fellow member of LoCo Council21:07
belkinsaAh.21:07
skellatpaultag: Give Jackson Doak time... :-)21:07
Unit193paultag: Best part, when they fix and forget so whatever bit is olllllld and outdated. :D21:07
paultagmm, we can always remove stuff too21:08
Unit193paultag: Oh, and read the rest of the tc license, it's interesting. 0_o21:08
paultagUnit193: what's going on there21:08
belkinsaBut I thought some of us may be over reacting.21:08
Unit193I.3 and I.4, III.1.a, VI.5 and VI.6:  That seems to say to me, that you can't even use patches without renameing it, and not even saying "This is a fork of Truecrypt".  It also appears to say that if you don't think you understand the license, you can't use it.21:09
skellatUnit193: There has been a **nasty** discussion on license-discuss about that monstrosity21:09
Unit193paultag: This is why I don't dabble, Im bad at it.21:09
Unit193I'm.21:09
Unit193paultag: Also, trying to use git more. \o/  (Still terrible.)21:10
paultagUnit193: You should check out the TeX license :)21:10
paultagand no, GIt rules!21:10
paultagGit*21:10
Unit193Oh nonono, *I'm* terrible with it!21:10
Unit193I like it better than bzr, even if it's harder.21:10
skellatI currently favor copyleft-next whenever Richard Fontana and the rest of us on the drafting team decide we have a version ready for usage.  http://copyleft-next.org/21:10
jenni[ copyleft-next ] - https://j.mp/1gzkUQu21:10
Unit193(People have said bzr is easier.)21:10
