[00:39] How do i tell why the bzr branch of a debian package hasn't updated? videocut in this case [00:48] Noskcaj: http://package-import.ubuntu.com/status/ [00:49] thanks [00:51] that page doesn't show any problems with videocut, though [00:55] slangasek, strange. the two latest debian releases aren't in bzr [00:56] hmm, quite [00:56] how long ago was -13 uploaded? [00:59] september 2nd [00:59] hmm [00:59] can you file a bug against the udd project about this? [01:00] I'm not sure what to do, where, and i haven't checked the package import myself. but i'll try once i've had lunch [01:42] slangasek: Noskcaj: https://launchpad.net/debian/+source/videocut doesn't know about -13 and -14 uploads. So i'd take it up with AA, e.g. cjwatson can check via videocut didn't sync. [01:42] and udd, only takes stuff that launchpad has imported. [01:42] s/via/why/ [01:43] ok, thanks [06:42] German text in videocut's 02-desktop-keywords.diff looks suspicious to me === arun is now known as arunpyasi === arunpyasi is now known as arun [08:09] stokachu, Do you plan to merge keepalived? If not, i could do it [08:09] (i think) [08:49] kirkland, roaksoax: I've made some progress on testdrive in debian, some DDs are willing to take a look. Could one of you try and fix up the manpage(s)? === freeflying_away is now known as freeflying [10:28] so apparently nobody is able to resolve bug 1183580, why not simply distribute a working version of that library if it's not possible to build it properly? [10:28] bug 1183580 in librcc (Ubuntu) "librcc segfaults on latest saucy" [High,Triaged] https://launchpad.net/bugs/1183580 [10:29] reported on 2013-05-23 :/ === freeflying is now known as freeflying_away [10:46] brainwash: Because Ubuntu can't just distribute binaries that were built on Debian. It may or may not work currently, but there is no guarantee that it will work in the future. === freeflying_away is now known as freeflying [10:47] brainwash: For starters, this bug should have been reported to the developers of the software [10:49] Ampelbein: the devs? who would that be? [10:49] brainwash: According to the Homepage: field in debian/control: http://rusxmms.sourceforge.net/ [10:50] but there is nothing wrong with the debian package [10:50] brainwash: The build environment in Ubuntu is different from Debian [10:51] And if I were the developer, I sure would want to know that my software doesn't work when compiled in Ubunut. [10:52] some might say it's ubuntu's fault [10:52] and not care about this [10:52] They are free to say what they want. [10:54] If the developers are saying that they don't care, Ubuntu would be better off removing the software from the repository. [10:54] the package maintainer should make sure that the package isn't broken [10:56] Yes, but apparently no-one from MOTU/Ubuntu-Dev uses this particular software. [10:56] So there isn't really a package maintainer in Ubuntu. [10:57] I'm not disputing the fact that there is a bug in the package, btw. I'm just saying that it would help to notify the developers of this bug so they can possibly provide a fix. [10:58] right, first we would need to test the latest upstream release I assume [10:58] Comment 12 indicates that the new upstream fixes the problem [11:00] maybe someone could build a new package, so we can test it in trusty and backport then [11:05] let me try [11:11] Ampelbein: thanks :) === freeflying is now known as freeflying_away [11:26] brainwash: I think I've identified the patch fixing the problem: http://paste.ubuntu.com/6431321/ [11:27] brainwash: I'll upload a package to my ppa, would you be available to test the resulting package? [11:32] Ampelbein: sure [11:34] brainwash: https://launchpad.net/~amoog/+archive/ppa will have saucy and trusty packages in about an hour (according to the build start estimate) [11:37] Ampelbein: alright === freeflying_away is now known as freeflying [12:41] Ampelbein: your package does fix the segfault (trusty), good work :) [20:22] Ampelbein: do you plan to write the SRU request for bug 1183580? [20:22] bug 1183580 in librcc (Ubuntu) "librcc segfaults on latest saucy" [High,Triaged] https://launchpad.net/bugs/1183580 [20:23] brainwash: It's on my agenda [20:23] Ampelbein: ok, thanks :) [20:23] But if you want to do it, I'm not stopping you ;) [20:23] Note however that the package first needs to get sponsored in trusty [20:23] haven't done something like this yet, so I don't want to mess up [20:23] right [21:07] Can someone please merge gnome-control-center? the package rygel can be synced one 3.8 is in trusty [21:20] doko: Previous versions of libdotconf didn't have a soname, and the new upstream maintainer fixed it. === jasoncwarner__ is now known as jasoncwarner_ === sraue_ is now known as sraue === freeflying is now known as freeflying_away
