brobostigongood morning everyone.10:34
brobostigonmorning dwatkins10:37
brobostigondr who and the daleks, ch5. Dr Who the HUMAN.10:38
dwatkinshehe, not sure I'd consider that canon, but it's entertaining - even has Roy Castle in it, iirc.10:41
brobostigonother than him being human, and various references being different, like hows refers to tardis, not the tardis. and tardis's design being different, and there being no reference to the time lords.10:43
dwatkinsa copycat!10:44

gordonjcp!ask | Constaaa12:47
lubotu3Constaaa: Please don't ask to ask a question, simply ask the question (all on ONE line and in the channel, so that others can read and follow it easily). If anyone knows the answer they will most likely reply. :-) See also !patience12:47
Constaaaokay, well does anybody know how to get rid of the black box which surrounds my GL dock ? i cant seem to get rid of it12:48

knightwisehey everyone $13:51
knightwiseanyone know anything about ampache ? I would like to change the default port of the web interface to something else13:51
MartijnVdSknightwise: ampache? what's that?13:59
knightwiseAmpache .. web based music streaming server14:00
knightwisevery well known14:00
MartijnVdSah.. it seems to just be a set of php scripts?14:01
MartijnVdScan't you just change the port of the webserver those scripts run on?14:01
knightwiseampache has its own webserver14:01
MartijnVdSknightwise: I've switched to Google play music14:01
knightwisethats the problem14:01
MartijnVdSknightwise: in that case.. no idea14:01
knightwiseMartijnVdS: i have about 15000 songs I exported out of iTunes, it was a little much to shove up to google music.14:01
MartijnVdSknightwise: I have 12k songs imported into Google Music :)14:02
MartijnVdSknightwise: it doesn't upload songs it can match to "remote copies", and I have 100/100 fibre for the rest ;)14:02
MartijnVdSknightwise: anyway.. ampache port should be easy to  set, shouldn't it?14:02
MartijnVdSknightwise: apparently it's in ampache.cfg.php?14:04
knightwiselet me check14:04
MartijnVdSknightwise: ah! it seems to be using Apache still, to run its (PHP) code on?14:04
MartijnVdSknightwise: just change the port for Apache then?14:05
MartijnVdSor add one, and set up an ampache vhost14:05
knightwiseholdon , see if I can get that working14:05
knightwisebecause ther is an ampache.cfg.php in the home directory and another one in the var/www directory14:06
knightwiseok , i created a virtual host in apache and pointed it to /var/www/ampache14:10

bigcalmGood morning peeps :)19:40
bigcalmDead SSD in workstation meant installing onto a fresh SSD. Thought I'd give 13.10 a go. Works fine as long as I don't install nvidia-current. Doing so results in (after a reboot) a blank screen and the mouse as the X pointer. Also, f1 - f6 all show a blinking cursor but no ability to login. Anybody else seen this happen?19:42
ali1234it's what usually happens when your 3d acceleration isn't working, but unity failed to detect this so the fallback wasn't used19:45
bigcalmDo you know if there's a fix, or is a case of don't use the binary driver?19:47
* penguin42 would try uninstalling the nvidia-current19:48
penguin42bigcalm: Out of interest, how did the SSD die?19:48
bigcalmpenguin42: without a means to login to the machine, I can't uninstall19:48
bigcalmpenguin42: drive was no longer visible to the BIOS. Tried it in 3 machines and via a USB interface19:49
DJonesIts 19:49, 60 second countdown to Day of the Doctor \o/19:49
bigcalmHave requested an RMA from OCZ19:49
penguin42bigcalm: Hmm you should be able to pass something on the command line to tell it not even start any GUI, did the fallback option work?19:49
bigcalmAs above, booting gives me a black screen with the X pointer. Nothing else appears. ctrl+alt+f1-6 gives me a blinking cursor and nothing else19:51
penguin42bigcalm: http://upstart.ubuntu.com/wiki/Debugging   see the boot problems section19:51
bigcalmThanks :)19:53
* bigcalm plays a little but more of zelda for a while19:53
penguin42bigcalm: But if you don't get anywhere with that then a boot cd, mount and chroot and remove the package19:56
bigcalmHi peeps :)22:20
