[06:49] asda: Clearly, has nothing to do with the package 'lubuntu' not existing. [06:49] !pureubuntu [06:49] If you want to remove all !Kubuntu packages or !Xubuntu packages and have a default !Ubuntu system, follow the instructions here: http://www.psychocats.net/ubuntu/pureubuntu [06:50] i actually just tried that though is the thing [06:50] didn't work [06:50] asda: Open a terminal and hit the up arrow a few times until you see what you wrote and then type it here [06:51] you mean to install lubuntu? [06:52] asda: No no no no no, I need to know what command you used to actually install it... [06:53] i cant find it in the history [06:53] Oh... [06:53] we could find if you used same nickname [06:53] and not changing it all the time [06:54] i have used 3 nicknames in total on the lubuntu irc channel [06:54] what name are you looking for [06:55] bioterror: I think asda means the command history in the terminal. [06:55] i dont even know how to change my name in the terminal [06:55] asda: Type in [ sudo apt-cache policy lubuntu-desktop ] and see what happens. [06:56] lubuntu-desktop: [06:56] Installed: (none) [06:56] Candidate: 0.48 [06:56] Version table: [06:56] 0.48 0 [06:56] 500 http://us.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ raring/universe amd64 Packages [06:56] macs@macsplean:~/code/my_apps/rails_apps/satisfactory/wednesday$ [06:57] Well, OK, that's not installed, how about [ sudo apt-cache policy lxde ]? [06:58] not installed [07:00] @SonnikuAmerica [07:00] asda: why don't you just keep lubuntu? [07:01] asda: Now do the same thing for lubuntu-* [07:01] wexl: i can't move windows, for one. the window key no longer lets me search for programs. [07:01] wxl: He doesn't appear to actually have it... [07:02] the former problem is weird, the latter is easy [07:02] sudo apt-cache policy lubuntu [07:02] N: Unable to locate package lubuntu [07:02] sudo apt-cache policy lubuntu [07:02] N: Unable to locate package lubuntu [07:02] sudo apt-cache policy lubuntu [07:02] N: Unable to locate package lubuntu [07:02] i dont have a dock [07:02] haha [07:02] meant to copy/paste that once [07:03] !pastebinit [07:03] pastebinit is the command-line equivalent of !pastebin - Command output, or other text can be redirected to pastebinit, which then reports an URL containing the output - To use pastebinit, install the « pastebinit » package from a package manager - Simple usage: command | pastebinit -b http://paste.ubuntu.com [07:03] Last one, openbox installed? [07:04] uh [07:04] cant i see what i am running [07:04] instead of what i am not running [07:05] htop, top, or ps. [07:05] ? [07:05] asda: My question is, why do you think you have Lubuntu, when you don't? [07:05] because i think i typed "sudo apt-get install lubuntu" restarted then got this [07:05] 'lubuntu' isn't a package, it wouldn't have installed a single thing. [07:06] its true i was looking up other operating systems simultaneously [07:06] hold on [07:06] i can try this again [07:06] hmm your'e night no lubuntu package [07:06] what happened, then. ... [07:06] one doesn't just telnet into lubuntu [07:06] yeah ok [07:06] asda: Here's a better idea: [ sudo apt-get install pastebinit && dpkg --get-selections | pastebinit ] [07:07] k [07:07] http://desktoplinuxreviews.com/lubuntu-reviews/lubuntu-13-10/ is what Lubuntu looks like, btw. You could just try installing ubuntu-desktop. :P [07:08] Then once that all finishes, give me the link it shows you. [07:11] asda: ^ [08:43] hi [08:43] does lubuntu still use indicator-sound-gtk2? [08:44] how can I enable consolekit in LXDE? [08:47] ali1234: Seems it's using the lxpanel volume plugin, and don't see it in the Task field. [08:48] good. because it looks like trusty will be the final nail in the coffin [08:48] Yes, that's the default. [08:50] Has -applications-gtk2 though. [08:50] (Lubuntu doesn't have pulse) [08:51] ok. well i'm going to recommend sound-gtk2 finally gets removed completely [08:51] since it looks like nobody at all is still using it [08:51] Xu and Studio are the only ones that ship, yeah. [08:52] then we can just patch the deb in saucy, and forget about it [09:15] thanks, sorted :) === ochosi_ is now known as ochsoi === ochsoi is now known as ochosi === yofel_ is now known as yofel [11:23] How to install Lubuntu v13.10.
