=== gary_poster|away is now known as gary_poster [13:49] join #ubuntu-us-mi [14:30] so much duct tpe holding this CI stuff together wow [14:31] was true for old one too [14:31] I think more [14:32] or at least the duct tape had weaker adhesive :-P [14:32] yea, it's the kind of thing that once you get all the moving parts in your head and understand it it makes some sense [14:32] but man it takes so long to understand all the parts talkig to each other [14:32] yeah [14:32] and nudge them all in the right ways [14:51] hey gary_poster have you heard anything about being required to fill out a new NC-4 witholding form? [14:51] bac, no, nothing [14:52] gary_poster: i've read some stuff that says it is required due to the way they have changed income taxes in NC. [14:52] right reading http://www.dornc.com/press/2013/nc4requirement.html [14:52] i've also heard if you don't fill it out they put you down for 0 exemptions, which is what almost everyone gets anyway [14:52] bac "effective for taxable years beginning on or after January 1, 2014" [14:56] gary_poster: eh, i guess i'll ask after the new year if i remember [14:56] bac I will contact Blythe about this and cc you. [14:56] oh, even better [14:56] bac it looks like if they have it set up before our first 2014 paycheck it will be ok. who knows if I am right though [14:56] or what? they send art pope to london with a tire iron? [14:58] bac, we don't get any exemptions. yeah, which is what it seems we get anyway [14:59] so it seems to be a wash. required to do it but it you don't the default is right. [15:01] yeah [15:08] jujugui heads up, due to ice and crap (I'm guessing) my net's dropped a couple of times this morning. [15:09] so if I go afk, I'll wait to get back or hit up mifi or something [15:12] rick_h__: i've got the drop out too but do to periodic, heavy rains. [15:13] bac: we had the ice of doom day yesterday. Pretty, but dangerous times out and about. Power stayed up for us, but network's been much more flaky than usual :/ [15:15] rick_h__: i used to like the heavy snow and ice storms we got in NC once every 3-4 years. i would volunteer to do doctor transport for the hospital, which was my license to get out and play while pretending a higher calling. [15:15] hah [15:15] my '90 ranger rover and i were unstoppable. [15:16] yea, I got to test out the new blizzaks on the touareg. Drove the wife to work/back and had our first of the 4 christmases [15:16] so saw some crazy sights for sure [15:16] telephone pols hanging via the wiring without any attachment to the ground are a bit spooky :) [15:16] poles [15:38] morning all [15:38] party party [15:40] hey :-) [15:43] so I havent had enough time to write the tests for my branch so I was wondering if anyone wanted to do those for me? [15:43] I can try and find the time over the next couple days but I'm pretty busy [15:44] heh, sure hatch send it over, I'll try to do it or see if Makyo can do it. [15:44] ouch, test handoff? :P [15:44] awesome thanks https://github.com/hatched/juju-gui/tree/relation-unit-errors [15:45] it's been rebased and is working [15:45] cool [15:45] rick_h__, think of it as prototype handoff :-) [15:45] it's actually pretty cool [15:45] gary_poster: ah, ok. I guess that sounds better. [15:45] lol [15:45] :-) [15:46] if noone else can get to it just let me know and I'll find the time [15:46] hatch, no, go have a vacation. shoo. :-) [15:46] haha - I watched/read some stuff on React while being dragged around shopping - it's actually pretty cool :P [15:47] heh cool [15:47] ruh roh [15:47] haha [15:47] :-) [15:48] * rick_h__ resistst the url to create an ENV var for a timeout that's 5hrs long called IEDAMMIT and force all timeouts in the system to pull from it. [15:48] For the tests, I figure the best way is to copy the createinspector code form the inspector-overview tests [15:49] jujugui call in 10 [15:50] i.e., rick_h__ and Makyo :-) [15:50] \o/ [15:50] woot [15:50] heh [15:50] * gary_poster likes IEDAMMIT [15:50] huh [15:50] bac you are not working, right? [15:50] i am [15:50] bac: is here today and tomorrow [15:51] i am what i am [15:51] oh! /me sucks [15:51] if I recall [15:51] then bac too :-) [15:51] gary_poster: and don't forget we'll also need IEDAMMITms :) [15:51] gah [15:51] well, ok [15:51] for the milliseconds [15:51] heh [15:58] jujugui call in 1 [16:57] OMG it worked! follow up card...make the output usuable because it it fails talk about needle in a haystack. http://ci.jujugui.org:8080/job/juju-gui/167/consoleText [16:58] awesome rick_h__ ! :-) [16:58] 20min duration, right at 2x [16:58] or 20x, depending on what integration stage you compare it to ;-) [16:59] hah, yea...remember the gold ole 2min days? [17:06] jujugui review please of the updates to get the unit tests in a browser working. Reviewer comments added. https://github.com/juju/juju-gui/pull/40 [17:07] * gary_poster taking lunch now. will take it if noone else has [17:07] note that it's actually the two cards, getting it working and then the port is configurable as well [17:07] when I return [17:07] thanks gary_poster have a good lunch [17:07] * rick_h__ will grab grub as well. [18:11] Makyo: failure is my fault, updating now [18:11] I'll retrigger [18:12] rick_h__, d'oh, didn't notice. Thanks. [18:12] Makyo: just noticed via email. Sorry, prepping for my branch that changes the port it runs saucelabs CI on [18:12] but obviously not landed yet [18:15] Oh, I was still sitting on the thread in gmail, didn't see the '4 new messages' notification. [18:28] rick_h__, do you need QA or is this a "if it passes in CI then that was the QA!" branch? [18:28] gary_poster: tests pass, if you want to verify the instruction commands work for you that's bonus qa [18:28] but I'll update that some more based on your comments [18:28] gary_poster: so yea, tests pass, jenkins shows it working so that's QA [18:29] rick_h__, I'll take that. ;-) [18:29] rick_h__, :+1: with comments. Thank you [18:42] good react vid http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XxVg_s8xAms [18:48] Running into a few problems poking at getting vagrant up for mac dev. First of all, do we still need ppa:gophers/go? Not using lbox anymore. Secondly, where does python-selenium live? I get a dependency error. [18:48] Makyo: it's installed into a virtualenv and the Make commands use that [18:48] Makyo: so the system dep should no longer be required [18:49] Makyo: I think hatch had some of that in his docs update, but we kept going over the debate on the npm stuff [18:49] rick_h__, python-selenium? [18:49] Makyo: yes [18:49] Makyo: and hatch's branch also removed the go dep [18:49] Aha! Okay. [18:49] though at some point we'll have Go env functional tests and it might come back [18:49] Will remove those from the provision script, then. [18:50] Makyo yeah see my docs PR [18:50] hatch, cool, thanks. [18:50] That's what I get for just blithely running commands :D [18:50] haha it happens [18:50] I never thought of setting up vagrant though [18:50] that's pretty smart [18:50] :) [18:51] I figured that'd be a good way to get around my VM issues, and also share the results. [18:51] Just add a Vagrantfile and a provision script. [18:51] yeah I'd be interested in that for sure [18:52] I love this MBP though, running Ubuntu, OSX, and Win 8 all at once haha [18:52] Hah, yeesh [18:52] unfortunately that's probably going to mean that I will have to QA everyones windows 8 stuff :P [18:53] Yep! Thanks in advance :D [18:53] lol [18:54] I haven't figured out how to get windows to capture the proper keybindings but I did find an application that can remap the osx keys [18:55] I have to say though.....apt basically blows every other pkg manager out of the water [18:55] Yeeep. === makyo_ is now known as Makyo [19:42] jujugui landed the test runs. There's still an issue that prevents both a test of a pull request and a landing job from running at the same time. It'll be my first card after the holiday. Everyone have a good time. I'm going to run. [19:42] Have a good one :) [19:43] bye rick_h__ ! happy holiday, new year, etc! [20:23] jujugui small PR for vagrant; not urgent, can wait. [20:23] Uh... [20:23] https://github.com/juju/juju-gui/pull/41 [20:24] cool [20:24] cool thanks for figuring that out [20:25] Makyo: i'll look in a bit [20:25] Figured I should probably be able to use my laptop in London. On to quickstart! [20:25] lol [20:29] Makyo: i'm not sure what i've done wrong, but i'm logged into github but i cannot add comments to your PR diff [20:30] bac, wonder if we need to wait for the okay to merge? [20:30] No, I can. Hmm.. [20:43] Makyo: i lost my connection. please reply again, if you had. [20:43] bac, I got a comment in there, was wondering if it was waiting for the okay from CI. [20:46] bac, Makyo fwiw tests just passed. Are you getting these IRC messages bac? [20:46] heh [20:47] thinking no [21:26] Makyo, I'm wondering if bac fell off the end of the world, and if I should do the review [21:26] wdyt? [21:26] it seemed like he had made progress [21:28] gary_poster, up to you, I guess. It's mostly just a QA plus an "are the docs okay" check. [21:29] yeah, Makyo. I am doing stuff, and he is around tomorrow. If you don't request it, I'm not doing it :-) [21:29] No worries, then! [21:29] cool [21:30] Like I said, it's light, and won't conflict with anything, so I'm not worried about it [21:30] cool [22:01] night all. have a great holiday! Makyo, I'm afraid I leave you with hatch's https://github.com/hatched/juju-gui/tree/relation-unit-errors === gary_poster is now known as gary_poster|away [22:02] >:/ [22:02] Okay :)
