[02:00] hello? [02:00] hi [02:01] oh cool there are people here :D [02:01] I'm in a bit of a pickle at the moment [02:01] battling an hdmi audio issue [02:02] linux F/B combo connection issue to a winows Front end for me [02:02] and when i got it to connect once the schema was 8 off XD [02:03] means you have different versions of front and back end [02:03] well i updated the backend and now it wont connect at all [02:04] same information as before but now it is kind of stuck saying it cant connect [02:05] can you telnet to the backend port ? [02:06] on the backend itself or the remote computer [02:06] remote machine [02:06] which port would i telnet [02:06] from the "new" frontend to the backend [02:07] 6543 [02:08] no [02:08] it will not connect [02:11] that's your problem ... [02:11] one moment [02:11] run through the backend setup and make sure it's configured to listen on a static address instead of 127.0.0.1 [02:17] i have a static set in the network manager [02:18] that needs to match what's set in mythbackend setup [02:18] and Its set to the same one as in the setup which is a 192.168.2.xx number [02:19] master and local are both 192.168.2.13 which match my static ip [02:19] and the new frontend points to 2.13 ? [02:19] yes it does [02:20] restart the backend service and see if it connects then [02:22] alright [02:24] if it still doesn't connect, you've either got a firewall issue or something in the network config blocking remote access to the port [02:24] i found something interesting [02:25] yea ? [02:25] failed listening ob tcp 127.0.0.1:6543 - Error 8: the bound address is already in use [02:25] why would it listen on that port? [02:26] you have the backend configured to listen on localhost [02:26] but I had that changed [02:26] where should i change that [02:27] in the backend setup [02:27] mines rebooting [02:27] now it says cond not connect to master backendserver. is it running? is the ip address set for it in mythtv-setup correct? [02:28] run mythtv-setup [02:28] on the backend, both are listed as 192.168.2.13 for master and for local [02:28] alright ill run that [02:28] confirm the ip:port is set to 192.168.2.13 [02:29] and 6543 [02:30] i run it and it brings me into the same this i listed before [02:31] 192.168.2.13 and 6543 match [02:31] status port on 6544 [02:34] then there's a firewall issue preventing access remotely [02:35] how would i fix this? [02:36] gotta determine which side is the problem [02:37] can you telnet to 192.168.2.13 6543 from the backend machine? [02:37] let me see [02:37] can i telnet from the terminal directly by default? [02:37] should be able to [02:38] yes [02:38] i can [02:42] however, backend telnet to frontend remote does not appear to work [02:54] i think the problem may lie on the remote side [02:55] oh wait, on the server shutdown it said apatche2 using 127.0.0.1 [03:16] relogging === toorima_ is now known as toorima === SpeedRacer is now known as SonikkuAmerica [23:24] anybody here using a dvb-s pci-e card in their mythtv?
