[19:14] Any ideas? [19:14] *in this case [19:17] cristian_c: What errors do you get when installing python-apport? (Paste them to paste.ubuntu.com) [19:18] I've not copied them, but I remember these were 'not found' errors [19:18] repo errors [19:19] Ampelbein, I try to copy them [19:19] :) [19:19] cristian_c: Then you were just missing a "sudo apt-get update" [19:19] cristian_c: you mean "404 not found" errors? do `sudo apt-get update` [19:19] Ampelbein, oh, you are right [19:19] o/ Ampelbein [19:19] ;) TheLordOfTime [19:19] I did'nt think about it [19:19] sorry [19:19] there you go, let us know if you still get errors after the apt-get update :) [19:20] I've not tried with apt-get update, I'll try [19:20] soory guys (embarassed) [19:20] *sorry [19:20] ok [19:20] no problem :0 [19:20] :) * [19:20] I try immediately [19:20] :) [19:20] Ampelbein: ever hate trying to patch software, because half of the patch fails to actually apply because the code the patch is trying to remove doesn't exist? [19:21] TheLordOfTime: Yeah, happens quite often. [19:21] Ampelbein: i hate that this is a security update, though, the patch fixes a CVE but only half-applies in Precise [19:21] That's why I dislike doing SRUs ;) [19:21] Ampelbein: oh god, SRUs are evil sometimes, security updates plague me more though [19:21] I have no issues with nginx SRUs, those're usually easy to apply [19:21] it's the CVE fixes that cause issues [19:23] * TheLordOfTime has managed to be able to apply fixes to nginx because the code being added gets added in the same general place, so he can just manually recreate the patch, derived from the patch that just works for other versions of the packages in Ubuntu [19:23] still, I accepted this fate, so meh [19:29] Ampelbein: i also hate one thing more, the operating system wars, where the windows, mac, and linux diehards all go at it... why can't people just be tolerant of others' viewpoints? Ultimately, "Ubuntu" means "humanity to others" so everyone should be tolerant of everyone else's OS choices >.> [19:29] * TheLordOfTime got flamed on one forum because of using Linux :/ [19:33] TheLordOfTime, yes, 404 not found, I confirm [19:33] cristian_c: pastebin the error please [19:33] !pastebin [19:33] For posting multi-line texts into the channel, please use http://paste.ubuntu.com | To post !screenshots use http://imagebin.org/?page=add | !pastebinit to paste directly from command line | Make sure you give us the URL for your paste - see also the channel topic. [19:33] i've installed python-apport [19:34] ubot2`: laggggggggggggggggggggggg [19:34] TheLordOfTime: I am only a bot, please don't think I'm intelligent :) [19:34] after apt-get update [19:34] cristian_c: that doesn't answer my question :P (i want the entire error that you're seeing) [19:34] TheLordOfTime, thanks very much [19:34] TheLordOfTime, ok, but I've solved [19:34] cristian_c: this sounds like one of the apt mirrors is behind but meh [19:34] cristian_c: ah okay :0 [19:34] cristian_c: glad to hear it :) [19:34] * TheLordOfTime thought you had a new issue :0 [19:34] :) * [19:34] grrr, stupid keyboard... [19:34] 404 not found bacuse I've not typed apt-get update before [19:35] because [19:35] ah yeah that happens :) [19:35] my bad [19:35] a stupid error that I made [19:35] :) [19:36] iv'e made that error before, don't sweat it :) [19:41] Okay, I've launched apport-collect and the bug report has been reported with the info automatically [19:41] :) [19:41] thanks for the support [19:41] :) [19:41] *has been updated
