[00:48] valorie: the 10 minute update cron is still running, that needs to be fixed [00:52] on that page, you mean? [00:52] it has an edit conflict; dunno why [00:53] the "two edits" it shows are identical [00:55] ok, I just removed one and the error message, resaved, and now it seems fine [00:55] I assume you were talking about the wiki page [00:55] what now [00:55] my main question is that http://docs.kubuntu.org/Kubuntu/KubuntuDocs.html points to Trusty docs [00:56] * ahoneybun looks [00:56] that should be Saucy docs [00:56] and possibly to 12.04 stuff [00:56] our wiki pages are a cycle ahead of published docs [00:56] saucy uses Muon Discover or Center by default? [00:56] or should be [00:56] oh [00:56] yea [00:57] that would follow with this card https://trello.com/c/kGdJM3I1/71-make-docs-kubuntu-snapshot-static-for-each-release [00:57] possibly not many changes needed, but that would be confusing to a new user who landed there [00:58] also need to turn on the installation page on that [00:58] hmmmm, where is this cron getting its feed? [00:59] better? https://wiki.kubuntu.org/Kubuntu/KubuntuDocs [00:59] it is fine to have a cron, I guess, but our main landing page on docs.kubuntu.org should point to the current releases [01:00] um [01:00] I thought we were not using wiki.kubuntu.org for docs anymore? [01:01] well it is still being used on docs.kubuntu.org [01:01] well, I guess it's fine to have Saucy there [01:01] yes, that's cool [01:01] ah, that's where the cron runs [01:01] ok [01:02] so then what did the canonical admins remove? [01:02] I obviously have not been paying close enough attention [01:03] this http://www.kubuntu.org/doc/7.10/index/C/index.html [01:03] ok [01:04] Riddell added it to our trello [01:04] now it is done [01:04] great [01:04] yep [01:04] but I see your point [01:05] well we can make a static of 14.04 and so on [01:05] right, and we can get translations this next cycle that way [01:05] translate next cycle? [01:05] not sure how that will work on the website, but surely we can get that done at least for some pages [01:06] once we finish our pages on the wiki, I'll write to the translators and try to get some help [01:06] and kubuntu-devel and -users too [01:06] hopefully by release time there will be lots of translation done [01:09] maybe mirror it like we do https://wiki.kubuntu.org/Kubuntu/KubuntuDocs [01:09] mirror what, where? [01:10] the translations? [01:10] well a image of the site [01:11] of the wiki and have working links to the translations [01:11] so what is being mirrored now is https://wiki.kubuntu.org/Kubuntu/KubuntuDocs to http://docs.kubuntu.org/Kubuntu/KubuntuDocs.html ? [01:11] yea [01:12] wouldn't it be better to directly mirror userbase to the docs.k.o at release? [01:12] up-to-date content and translations [01:12] yea but I don't think I have the access to change it [01:12] leave out wiki.k.o altogether since we no longer develop there [01:12] we don't need to change it until release [01:13] but by then we really should [01:13] yea [01:13] and i feel that a set of LTS docs should be around on the website as well, when we have them [01:13] which we don't know, I don't think [01:13] anyway, dinner here, gotta go [01:13] ok [01:14] I'll be back in few hours [01:14] Riddell: can we change the docs.kubuntu.org [01:14] to the new wiki? [01:14] ahoneybun: check out https://wiki.kubuntu.org/Kubuntu/SystemDocumentation [01:14] I just changed the first para [08:18] Good morning. [08:22] hey lordievader [08:22] Hey ahoneybun, how are you doing? [08:22] good well I am up pretty late [08:23] Hehe, here it is still pretty early, 9:30 AM. [08:23] 3:30 am here [08:23] ahoneybun: Time for bed, I'd say ;) [08:23] yea just got home from gf house [08:28] got around to reviewing the doc? [08:59] ahoneybun: No sorry, I'm very busy getting my art project onto Github. Kinda need your help installing kubuntu, no matter distro GRUB refuses to install properly, the config points everyehere it should but i always get stuck at grub rescue. With a dedicated boot partition i get unknown filesystem and without i get no such partition. I'm trying to dual boot XP (installed first) and Kubuntu. [15:58] Lilo works out of the box but only to boot into windows [16:03] Legacy grub throws error 18 [16:07] Have i missed any boot flags or something, i can't default the damn machine into dual boot, i either get no option and it boots traight to XP or it throws some god forgotten error. [16:18] And now LILO won't let me make the lilo.conf [16:23] I've been trying for three days now getting this to work, Is there anyone who at least can throw in the right direction? [16:24] Moholmarn: This a devel channel, I suggest asking around in #kubuntu or in #ubuntu. [16:25] Moholmarn: are you using separate partiontion bor grub ? [16:25] I went to livechat on the help page on the kubuntu site, so i thought this was the right place. [16:25] no. [16:25] i've tried, but i get unkown filesystem === BluesKaj_ is now known as BluesKaj [18:11] ::workspace-bugs:: [1264821] kscreenlock_greet insecure with multiple X screens @ https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1264821 (by TJ) [21:15] and there's a new dbus coming out :/ [21:15] let's cross fingers and hope it doesn't destroy every.single.app out there [21:20] lol === BluesKaj_ is now known as BluesKaj === [BNC]chaudhary is now known as chaudhary
