xnoxshaun: boot has 9MB available and typical kernels are multiples the size of that. Perform apt-get autoremove, or manually remove old kernels.09:24
xnoxshaun: "manually" as in with apt-get remove.09:24
xnoxshaun: so indeed, it was that it sais "No space left on device", the /dev/sda1 - /boot that is.09:25
shaunxnox>  Why does a game need to do anything with /boot?09:25
shaunxnox>  Maybe a better question is my /boot partition is total 92MB  What should a /boot partition size be?09:27
xnoxshaun: you clearly run out of /boot space last time you tried to install/update a kernel. It failed to configure, thus the update-initramfs trigger is firing/trying to configure on each apt run.09:28
xnoxshaun: your boot partition size is fine. you simply have too many kernels installed. If you don't remove them by calling "apt-get autoremove" manually, or via gui, or unattended upgrades or elsehow and don't remove kernels yourself, you will constantly see that error....09:29
shaunxnox>  Thanks I would have never known that!09:29
xnoxshaun: do execute apt-get autoremove, do check that "dist-upgrade" completes and new kernel is installed and do reboot into the new kernel, as it probably has stable & security updates.09:30

studio-user485hello...20:31
caduxhi...20:32
holsteino/20:33
cadux\o/...20:33
caduxI am conducting an experiment, installing ubuntustudio in an Internet cafe...20:35
holsteinyeah?20:38
holsteinit shouldnt matter where you install it20:38
holsteinit'll matter if you select "install upgraded during the installation" and the internet is slow, bad, or fails20:38
caduxThis Internet cafe has an average of nearly 10,000 users per month, ie, the number of users ubuntustudio will rise considerably.20:40
holsteinoh, you mean for the cafe itself20:41
holsteini would think anything about studio would necessarily benefit casual desktop users20:41
holsteini would go for xubuntu20:41
caduxI am installing to update, but the internet is good, speed of 1mb / s...20:43
holsteini see not advantage to installing that way, so i never use it20:44
holsteinbest case scenario, nothing happens and the system boots20:45
caduxI had installed xubuntu, but the experience was much better with users with ubuntustudio.20:45
holsteinotherwise, i just do an install, which i know will work, then i upgrade20:45
holsteincadux: "better" is a matter of opinion20:45
holsteincadux: xubuntu is more designed and intended for the target audience20:45
holsteincadux: i literally cant imagine what you could benefit from ubuntustduio there20:46
holsteincadux: you can always use the look and feel without installing the packages20:46
holsteincadux: if a desktop user were to launch *any* of the audio specific packages, and JACK tries to start, then audio can and usually will break20:46
holsteincadux: there is no benifit to offereing anyone at a casual internet cafe access to JACK20:47
holsteinthere is something to be said for keeping things simple, and clean20:47
holsteinwhen i have setup scenario's like that, i tend to only allow access to a limited account with a web browser20:48
caduxI understand this concern, however users were prevented from installing packages, only the administrator lan house will do that.20:49
holsteincadux: i never referenced installing JACK20:51
holsteincadux: ubuntustudio ships with it20:51
holsteincadux: you have but to click on an applciation in the menu, such as ardour, as a normal user.. a default application that ships with, and is included with ubuntustuduio20:52
holsteinthen, the audio can, and usually does break for normal users20:52
holsteinsince, they are not intending to, or trying to use JACK20:52
holsteinthey just click and open ardour, which, open jack, as designed, and breaks the audio for the system20:53
holsteinin xubuntu, this would not be happening20:53
holsteinand if you prefer the way ubuntustuduio looks and feels, you can add that look and feel to xubuntu20:53
holsteinanyways, you can do either one either way20:54
holsteinbut, i feel that you will have to basically strip ubuntustudio down to xubuntu with the studio theme20:54
holsteini would consider it easier, and more appropriate to go the other way20:55
holsteinalso, there is a bigger help community20:55
holsteinand, a more appropriate help community20:55
