tencHey wrst: I think I remembered you saying that you primarily use Arch, which DE do you use with it?17:47
tencI still have Xubuntu on my desktop but I've had Arch with tmux running for a while on my laptop and I've found the experience oddly cathartic so I've been pondering xfce4 over Arch but wondered what other people were doing.17:52
wrsttenc: I use gnome17:55
wrstbut xfce is good and all the shimmer themes are in the aur, so you can have a nice looking xfce like xubuntu if you desire17:55
tenc2 or 3?17:56
wrstdon't know if you have ever used stock xfce or not but its butt ugly until you give it some love17:56
wrstgnome 3.1017:56
wrstyou can't get gnome 2 in arch, well not without some weird magic17:56
wrstI'm sure someone somewhere might be but not for sure why17:56
tencIsn't unity baked in to gnome 3+?17:59
wrstNO17:59
wrst:)17:59
tencLOL, ok, I thought I could be wrong.17:59
wrstunity is a "shell" on top of gnome 3 or it was, not for sure how that is working now as I try to avoid unity like that black plague17:59
tencYes, it is not desirable. <g>18:00
wrstbut if you like xfce no reason not to try it on arch18:00
wrstor cinnamon18:00
wrstI'm not a fan of cinnamon personally as it always seems laggy to me18:01
tencI'll likely stick with xfce as you suggest. Everything else I've considered looks 'shiny' to me and I'm wary of shiny looking DEs. Like a lot of things I believe when DEs are working correctly you should not notice them. :)18:03
tencGood afternoon, eileen. ^^18:07
