danpsyEvery time I upload a file/mkdir in my home directory via ssh/ftp, I receive a 403 every time in my web browser, and the only way to resolve is to chmod to 755.  I've never encountered this before, would this be apache specific or could something else be causing this?02:34
patdk-lapdanpsy personal issues02:46
patdk-lapit defaults to only allowing you to access02:46
patdk-lapso yes, it's something you have to change each time02:46

holsteinBadBoY__: you just run the installer, and it will talk you through it..04:21
BadBoY__i'm stuck at the partition portion.04:22
holsteinBadBoY__: you can partition as you please.. most new users do one partition. and thats really all you need.. though, most folks want a swap partition04:23
holsteinBadBoY__: if i were you, i would get a minimal iso such as lubuntu or xubuntu and install that..04:23
BadBoY__i've been given #1 primary 1 GB fat32 and another #2 primary 1 GB ntfs and the next is free. should i leave the primary untouched and then proceed with boot area and swap area with the free space?04:23
holsteinBadBoY__: been given?.. you dont need fat nor ntfs04:24
holsteinBadBoY__: there is not "should".. just what you need04:24
BadBoY__no the partition option shows me this on the hdd04:24
holsteinhttps://help.ubuntu.com/12.04/installation-guide/i386/partition-sizing.html might help04:25
holsteinBadBoY__: sure.. the machine shipped with dos you said.. you can wipe that, or do what you please with it04:25
holsteinBadBoY__: you wont install linux into dos.. you will make linux partitions04:25
BadBoY__ok04:26
holsteinBadBoY__: what i suggest is, use a GUI installer from something like lubuntu.. it will offer to automatially install wiping the hard drive, and partitioning properly04:26
BadBoY__the manual u suggest is of i386, and i've amd 64 bit arch04:27
holsteinBadBoY__: that doesnt matter..04:27
holsteinBadBoY__: otherwise, use whatever guide you find for 64bit04:27
holsteinBadBoY__: you should see an option in the installer "use entire drive".. thats what you will want to do04:28
krababbelCan I tell Squirrelmail which domain to use for sender address? It seems to use just 'www', and I have to set it in personal settings in each mail account currently, otherwise sending mail won't work. I use my own SMTP server and I am sending email just locally on a LAN.08:25
krababbelI missed the setting in squirrelmail-configure09:01
