[18:26] <cmaloney> Bill was a strategist and tactician
[18:27] <cmaloney> not always accurate but devestatingly cunning
[18:27] <cmaloney> Ballmer is a sales person
[18:28] <cmaloney> in every sense of that profession
[18:28] <cmaloney> Not terribly strategic, not terribly cunning, but able to read markets and try to adapt to meet them
[18:29] <cmaloney> and unfortunately for Ballmer, not particularly adept at having Microsoft not middle-manage itself to death.
