[04:20] Hello. I'm getting my feet wet fixing a bug. I haven't fully done a bug fix yet (a few attempts) and am hoping a small bug like https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/inkscape/+bug/807861 can help me get started. [04:20] <_mup_> Bug #807861: typo in ../src/widgets/toolbox.cpp:4685 [04:21] So far I've apt-get sourced the code. I'm assuming I now need to do bzr branch? [04:32] Hello. I'm fixing my first bug (bug week is as good a time as any). I know I'm supposed to write a test case for the bug. If the bug is a typo within the source code would a good test be to parse the source line in question and verify it? [16:36] The bug I'm fixing is https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/inkscape/+bug/807861 [16:38] I applaud your enthusiasm for testing, but there's really no need to write tests for that kind of thing [16:38] Anyone who requires you to do so doesn't really understand what testing is for :-) [16:39] (By the way, this channel is for development of Launchpad itself. You perhaps meant #ubuntu-motu or #ubuntu-bugs or something) [16:41] cjwatson, Ah, thanks. [16:41] (Maybe not #ubuntu-bugs, that's more for bug triage)
