[00:25] hi anyone familiar with precise/ubiquity bugs unable to configure apt from cd. like bug 1041140 or screen grab http://thefudge.net/images/vinux4-daily-2014.png [00:25] bug 1041140 in ubiquity (Ubuntu) "Unable to install a fresh Ubuntu 12.04.1 from a live usb - /usr/share/ubiquity/plugininstall.py", line 1728, in " [Undecided,Confirmed] https://launchpad.net/bugs/1041140 === freeflying_away is now known as freeflying === timrc is now known as timrc-afk === Ursinha is now known as Ursinha-afk === NCommander is now known as uid0 === uid0 is now known as NCommander === freeflying is now known as freeflying_away === freeflying_away is now known as freeflying === Ursinha-afk is now known as Ursinha [08:45] Hy, anyone knows a decent documentation for libindicate? [08:57] hello === zz_mwhudson is now known as zz_zz_mwhudson === doko_ is now known as doko [13:07] cjwatson: ah, I guess that's what happening except the job is heavy enough on a netbook to seem constant :-P === freeflying is now known as freeflying_away === freeflying_away is now known as freeflying [16:33] !regression-alert [16:33] bdmurray, cjwatson, Daviey, didrocks, doko, infinity, jdstrand, pitti, RAOF, Riddell, ScottK, seb128, skaet, slangasek, SpamapS, stgraber: reporting regression in a stable release update; investigate severity, start an incident report, perhaps have the package blacklisted from the archive [16:35] bug #1262238 fglrx does no longer support "Mobility Radeon HD 4225/4250" [16:35] bug 1262238 in fglrx-installer-updates (Ubuntu Precise) "[SRU] Add support for the lts-saucy stack" [Medium,Fix released] https://launchpad.net/bugs/1262238 [17:00] eduard: With binary-only drivers, we're somewhat at the mercy of what upstream ships. This has always been the unfortunate tradeoff we've accepted for updating them to support new hardware. :( [17:01] ok, I see [17:02] It is just that this exception is not mentioned on the "SRU" page [17:02] eduard: Alberto's comment on the end of the bug might at least be helpful. [17:03] and I "lost" my laptop during a normal update [17:03] eduard: It's not so much an exception as a sad reality. For binary-only non-free stuff, we don't have much choice. Shipping upstream's latest is the only way to get security fixes and hardware support, but they drop old hardware support willy-nilly. :/ [17:04] But perhaps Alberto could package up the legacy driver for precise to try to mitigate this for people on the 3.2 kernel. [17:04] thanks for your efforts describing how I can recover [17:04] I already know to do that on my own [17:05] it is just that I'm hesitant to alter my installation too much [17:06] away from the official 12.04 LTS [17:06] since this is a "production" workstation [17:08] I would appreciate if the legacy driver could make it into the 12.04 LTS [18:35] so it sounds like eglibc upstream is dead... will we be switching back to glibc? [18:58] psusi: Yes. [18:58] psusi: I'm probably not doing it for 2.19, cause I'm on some tight deadlines for trusty, but it'll obviously happen for 2.20, because we have no choice. [18:59] (Will be looking this weekend at doing it for 2.19, though... It might not be too painful to JFDI) === TheLordOfTime is now known as teward === vibhav is now known as Guest99248 [21:51] mira, scim, and smc should be syncable, i just lack the hardware to test build [22:02] Noskcaj: PPA [22:03] oh yeah. I think smc is too big for me to even upload though [22:05] I'll test build mira [22:05] thanks [22:14] Noskcaj: building [22:14] turns out scim has a sync bug already [22:31] Noskcaj: mira built fine [22:31] want me to sponsor a sync? [22:31] Just sync it yourself, it's not lack of sponsorship that's making me not be motu [22:32] then what is it? [22:32] The application system [22:32] I don't understand why they haven't initiated a vote yet [22:32] neither [22:32] maybe bump the thread? [22:33] done, many, many times [22:33] apparently someone has been on the email application longer than i and they aren't finished either [22:33] And ubuntu-gnome took up the whole irc meeting [22:35] Noskcaj: you owe me one :P [22:35] :) [22:35] I bumped the thread [22:35] and added my endorsement [22:35] thanks [22:35] * Noskcaj wonders if there's a DMB member he hasn't pinged [22:36] synced mira [22:36] ty [22:37] heh, Laney just bumped another thread [22:37] oh [22:37] micahg said he would call for votes this weekend [22:38] for Noskcaj? [22:38] yes [22:38] sweet [22:38] yay, thanks micahg. [22:38] the e-mail application system is very much broken :( [22:39] it was never intended to be used so much [22:40] Just a suggestion, longer and better timed IRC meetings would reduce the amount of email use [22:41] I can only apply by irc in summer (daylight saving time), if i wake up at 6am [22:42] and darkxst took the entire meeting time for this month, when three people were applying [22:42] woops, sorry for ping [22:50] Noskcaj, well you did get to the meeting very late! [22:50] darkxst, I know, but you did use up the whole meeting. Not your fault, just the system is semi-broken [22:59] Laney, thanks for updating packageset, you missed gnome-weather however [23:00] no but I did do it slightly later [23:00] Laney, ok, thanks [23:01] no problemo [23:42] Laney, codesearch is down again?
