Nothing_MuchWhen I upgraded to Ubuntu 14.04 I noticed I'm not recieving any updates02:22
Nothing_MuchHow do I reenable the updates to appear daily?02:22
Nothing_MuchI already checked in the software sources02:22
Nothing_MuchAnd it says that it checks daily02:22
Nothing_MuchBut it doesn't02:22
DaekdroomTry doing it manually02:23
DaekdroomAn error message could show up02:23
Nothing_MuchDaekdroom: Okay I got an error02:23
Nothing_MuchIt says02:23
Nothing_Much"Not all updates can be installed"02:23
DaekdroomHow did you try to upgrade?02:24
Daekdroomapt-get or upgrade-manager?02:24
Nothing_MuchI upgraded with do-release-upgrade02:24
DaekdroomNot necessary. You're already using 14.0402:24
Daekdroom'sudo apt-get upgrade' (and occasionally 'sudo apt-get dist-upgrade') are all you need.02:24
Nothing_MuchDaekdroom: Yeah but when will the updates begin to show up daily again?02:36
Nothing_MuchWhen the final release of 14.04 shows up?02:36
DaekdroomIf anything, updates should be appearing daily during the development phase02:36
Nothing_MuchWell they aren't02:36
Nothing_MuchAnd haven't been until I ran the Software Updater02:36
Nothing_MuchThere's a "partial upgrade" and "continue" buttons02:37
DaekdroomI haven't been paying attention if they are offered to me daily, because I usually run the commands from terminal.02:37
Nothing_MuchDaekdroom: Well that's interesting, but when someone upgrades with do-release-upgrade, then that could be a problem that people are missing security updates02:39
jcrubinoI am attempting to do an apt-get update05:57

rwwjcrubino: run sudo apt-get update -o Debug::Acquire::http=true , see if it provides any useful errors06:07

rwwwell for starters, go through and clean all of the "precise" PPAs out06:35
rwwapart from that, the /var/lib/apt/lists/partial filename mentioned in the other paste might make it more obvious which of that bunch it means06:41
AussieDownUnderelfy: Erm am I supposed to put something like that in a terminal?08:13
elfywhat?08:18
elfyAussieDownUnder: I have absolutely no idea what you're talking about08:19

AussieDownUnderRunning Xubuntu 14.04 daily, trying to run minecraft.jar, there's not options in properties to allow it to run as executeable. I have Java 7 installed. Any other way to get the sucker running?08:21
AussieDownUnderWell whatta ya know, typed some jargon in the terminal & got it going. "sudo java -jar /home/smeg/Downloads/Minecraft.jar"08:23
TheDrumsAussieDownUnder: Err, shouldn't run minecraft as root.08:42
AussieDownUnderthedrums, right, the sudo thing is a habit09:31

AussieDownUnderI don't know, run a love usb of ubuntu & install boot-repair then run that.10:12
AussieDownUnderlive*10:12
AussieDownUnderSorry no love here10:12
adamshsiasdLove usb. I'll se if i can get a hold of one of those10:12
AussieDownUnderHonestly don't know if boot repair will work for that. Sounds like you need to tell your o/s where everything is now that you moved it all. Probs a better program or way of moving directories that updates its location to the o/s10:17
