[13:36] i wish linux would bring out software for usb modems [13:37] linux who? [13:38] man these modems suck. some decent firmware would be good [13:38] that stupid cddrive on the things causes hassles [13:38] chat later all home time for me [13:38] go well magespawn [13:40] I am sure they work well in Windows... and that is what was advertised on the packaging [13:40] no this one from ian doesnt even get seen by win 7 or xp [13:41] thats why its here and he has mine [13:41] sounds like it may be damaged then [13:41] works ok on linux but disconnects periodically [13:42] im sure its because it was unlocked but the original cellc stuff is read only so you cant format it [13:43] it has latest firmware installed but that didnt clear the read only junk [13:43] grrr [13:53] :( [13:53] I think I still have a vodacom modem somewhere... [13:54] but the easiest way these days is to use an android device to share its mobile data via wi-fi... makes internet easy [13:54] Thats strange Kilos [13:56] Mine is unlocked , at first it only accepted cellc. Vodacom it blocked. But i found that i used a blocked vodacom simcard , so i put a new one in and presto^ HSDPA lol [13:57] not_found: yeah the good old usb cable in phone trick [13:57] not anymore Golynx ... just use wifi [13:58] used to like the interface of those old phones on the pc , like motorola v360 [13:58] ya , if you can find wifi [14:00] I mean is you connect the PC to the phone using wifi and not the cable.. if your pc has wifi obviously [14:00] oh thats a good trick :) [14:01] then you can even walk around and use the phone and as long as your in wifi range you are good to go [14:02] I am pretty sure I would be able to do it connecting to my phone on my desktop where by my desktop is on ethernet but I have a access point and / or wifi router on the network [14:03] nice, tht may work [14:03] that* [14:06] usb modems are cheaper than modern cells fones [14:07] true, but modern phones have more uses [14:07] it just niggles not_found with its disconnecting now and again [14:07] I can understand that can be very frustrating [14:07] would drive me nuts [14:07] no man i cant learn fone stuff too [14:07] android is easy and besides, it uses the linux kernel :p [14:07] its very fast at times [14:08] * not_found is going to love and leave you all now... have a groovy day :) [14:08] up to 800 kB/s the other night [14:08] go well not_found [14:08] thats true Kilos [14:08] will save for a telkom usb modem methinks [14:09] i go fetch sheep [17:12] hey all [17:28] hey theblazehen [17:30] hey Kilos superfly [17:30] hi theblazehen [17:48] hi :p [18:10] hey smile [18:10] hi smile nlsthzn [18:13] alo again uncle Kilos [18:13] you were someone else earlier man [18:13] that lost soul [18:15] superfly: did you get things sorted with the disk io issues?
