nerochiarohi everyone, i'm trying to get a magic touchpad device to work with ubuntu, and while unity seems to recognize 3- and 4-finger touches it seems to ignore any other gesture. any pointers where to start looking ?10:18
RAOFnerochiaro: What other gestures are you trying? IIRC those are pretty much the set of supported ones.10:27
nerochiaroRAOF: isn't there a 3finger swipe to switch windows or workspaces ?10:27
RAOFI don't think so?10:28
RAOFYou *used* to be able to use 3-fingers to move windows around, but I think that gesture got dropped.10:28
RAOFToo few people have touchpads capable of tracking more than one finger :(10:29
mlankhorstI really?10:39
nerochiaroRAOF: i see. and is there any test app i can use to verify that other multitouch events are actually recognized and sent to windows ?10:40
RAOFnerochiaro: ‘xinput test-xi2’ will show all the touches X sees (as different valuators)10:42
nerochiaroRAOF: i dont' seem to be getting any event for 2 finger gestures. 3 or more generate TouchUpdate events10:46
RAOFHm. 2 fingers might be translated into scroll events, I forget.10:48
nerochiaroRAOF: and 2 finger pinch is what i really need to test10:48
nerochiaroRAOF: doesn't seem like the case, or at least windows with scroll bars don't seem to react to them10:49
nerochiaroand xinput doesn't show them as scroll neither10:49
