Diab0lixbut can't seem to log into ssh12:00
Diab0lixit says the connection was refused12:00
Diab0lixwhat should I do?12:00
ogra_enable ssh on the device via adb12:01
Diab0lixalright12:01
ogra_log in via adb and do:12:02
ogra_setprop persist.service.ssh true12:02
ogra_then reboot and sshd should be running12:03
ogra_set the property to false and reboot if you want it stopped12:03
Diab0lixthanks12:03
Diab0lixok12:03
Diab0lixhmm12:04
Diab0lixit still says the connection was refused..12:04
ogra_do you see sshd running ?12:04
ogra_ps ax|grep sshd12:04
Diab0lixyes12:04
ogra_how do you try to log in ?12:05
Diab0lixssh12:05
Diab0lixssh 192.168.42.13912:05
ogra_ah, that would try to use your current username :)12:06
ogra_try ssh phablet@192.168.42.13912:06
Diab0lixoh12:06
ogra_you want to log in as the phablet user12:06
rekadoHi, I'm about to install Ubuntu Touch on a 2nd gen Nexus 7.  Are the manual instructions still up-to-date? (https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Touch/Install#Manual_Download_.26_Installation)12:06
ogra_rekado, no, dont use them12:06
rekadookay12:06
ogra_use ubuntu-device-flash12:06
ogra_we need to update the manual part ...12:07
Diab0lixssh phablet@192.168.42.139 ssh: connect to host 192.168.42.139 port 22: Connection refused12:07
Diab0lix:/12:07
ogra_and you are 100% sure the IP is the right one ?12:07
rekadoogra_: I'm on Fedora; is this tool available for other systems than Ubuntu?12:07
Diab0lixyes it's the right ip12:08
Diab0lixmaybe I'll try with the hostname?12:08
ogra_rekado, well, it is written in go and statically linked afaik ... but you would have to comehow do a surgery to get it out of the deb12:08
ogra_*somehow12:08
Diab0lixstill no luck12:09
ogra_Diab0lix, wont work12:09
rekadohmm, I see.  Do you happen to have a link to the sources?12:09
ogra_https://launchpad.net/~phablet-team/+archive/tools12:10
ogra_goet-ubuntu-touch is the source package12:10
ogra_*goget12:10
rekadoogra_: thanks!12:11
ogra_Diab0lix, check /var/log/auth.log on the phone, it should tell you why you cant log in12:11
Diab0lixit's allright I just fount it :)12:11
Diab0lixI logged is with adb12:11
Diab0lixifconfig12:11
Diab0lixand the ip was wrong12:12
ogra_thats what i thought :)12:12
Diab0lixthanks a lot :)12:12

dennes544somebody there?14:44
Diab0lixyup14:44
dennes544how to download latest ubuntu touch sources? (14.04)14:45
Diab0lixI don't know :/14:47
ogra_stgraber, if you take a look at the CPU graph on i.e. http://people.canonical.com/~ogra/touch-bootcharts/ubuntu-phablet-trusty-268.png you will notice that the init inside the container only consumes two if the four CPU cores (see seconds 8-10 in the CPU chart), is there any way to tell the container to use all of them ?16:23
stgraberogra_: we haven't set any cpu limit on the container, so short of fixing their init to use more parallel threads, no17:19
ogra_well, i dont mind if it works serialized as long as it uses all available CPU :P17:21
ogra_it simply is odd that it takes 50%17:21
ogra_(i coulld imagine it to be 25% because it uses ojnly one core, but obviously it uses two)17:23
anonynimityhello. How would I go about downloading the source in my browser?17:26

rekadoI'm failing to flash the Nexus 7 2013 with ubuntu-device-flash.23:11
rekadoGetting this error: Cannot push /root/.cache/ubuntuimages/gpg/image-signing.tar.xz to device23:12
rekadothe device boots into recovery directly and then errors out23:12
Diabolixhave you tried running it as root?23:13
rekadoI'm running as root23:13
Diabolixoh23:13
rekadocould this be because of secure boot?23:13
DiabolixI don't think so23:13
Diabolixcan you connect to your nexus via adb?23:13
rekadoI can.23:13
rekadoI booted into the bootloader and then ran ubuntu-device-flash --channel=devel --bootstrap23:14
rekadothe first two files were pushed, then the device went into recovery mode (showing an Ubuntu logo and a few options, such as reboot, wipe, etc)23:15
Diabolixyes23:15
Diabolixyou don't have to do anything there23:16
Diabolixjust wait until your computer has finished all the steps23:16
rekadobut ubuntu-device-flash stops with an error.23:16
Diabolixdo you have a nexus 7 3g?23:17
rekadono. It's the wifi version23:17
Diabolixyou then may have to run ubuntu-device-flash --bootstrap --device=grouper instead23:17
Diabolixok ok23:17
Diabolixoh*23:17
Diabolixdid you try wiping the data partition?23:19
rekadoYes.23:19
Diabolixhmm23:19
Diabolixwhat error does it say when it stops?23:19
rekadoCannot push /root/.cache/ubuntuimages/gpg/image-signing.tar.xz to device23:20
rekadothat's all it says.23:20
Diabolixmaybe try to run ubuntu-device-flash in normal user, but with sudo23:21
Diabolixinstead of root23:21
Diabolixor even without sudo23:22
Diabolixstill in default user23:22
rekadoI did use a normal user with sudo first; when it failed I noticed that the cache was in /root/.cache, so I retried with plain root.  Same failure.23:26
Diabolixand if you run it without sudo in normal user?23:27
rekadoThe bootloader is unlocked, yet I think there may be something else on the device that needs unlocking.  I'm pretty sure it's not a permission problem on my machine.23:28
rekadowithout root privileges I cannot access the device.23:28
rekado(I tried)23:28
Diabolixweird23:28
Diabolixnormally you should be able to adb or ubuntu-device-flash your device without root privileges23:29
DiabolixAt least with my Nexus 4 it was the case23:29
rekadoadb works without root, fastboot however doesn't work without root.23:30
rekadoI'm on Fedora; compiled ubuntu-device-flash by myself.23:30
Diabolixallright23:30
DiabolixI'm on kubuntu, so yeah I didn't have to do that.23:31
Diabolixyou could try doing it on a live usb/cd or so just to test? :-)23:32
Diabolixof ubuntu I mean23:32
rekadoI might be able to try that tonight, but I doubt it would make a difference, to be honest.23:33
rekadoIs there a verbose mode that could tell me more about the error?23:33
Diabolixnot sure23:33
Diabolixnot mentioned in the man page at least23:34
rekadogotta go now, will play with this in a few hours again.  Thanks for your help.23:36
Diabolixyou're elcome :-)23:37
Diabolixwelcome*23:37
