[03:49] no, i haven't [03:49] (thanks for chatting, btw) [03:49] xubuntu553: try that first.. then, share what driver you are using [03:51] ok, i have arandr running [03:52] arandr doesn't seem to be any different than going to settings manager>display [03:52] xubuntu553: try sitting the resolution with that tool [03:52] xubuntu553: it could be, you are not going to be able to provide that resolution to that display [03:52] but 1080 doesn't show as an option [03:54] by following the link above, i was able to define 1280x720, and then subsequently select it. i just don't know how to define 1080 so that it will show up as well [03:54] xubuntu553: you can do it the same, but it may not work [03:54] xubuntu553: you can share what driver you are using, and what xorg.conf you are using and where you got it [03:55] do you have any possible explanations as to why it doesn't work? okay let me get that info for you [03:56] xubuntu553: i have *the* explantion. the hardware is not supporting the operating system you are using.. you likely were not promised that it would.. you were likely promised windows OS support [03:56] so, you will need to tell the volunteers here what you are using.. what hardwrae, and what xorg.conf, and where you got it [03:57] i'm using nvidia-304. i have an integrated nforce 430 video card. where can i find my xorg.conf?
