[00:00] hello all [00:00] been a while, but fantastic work on the wiki [00:00] Hey there. [00:00] As in the PopularPages? [00:01] as in everything the last 30 days... the activity level has been spectacualr [00:01] Has it? Really? [00:01] Oh, wait. I'm not an admin and I can;t really see it. [00:02] belkinsa: you can just subscribe to all the pages :) [00:02] yeah... at least five edits every day... [00:02] and on some days as many as 20 [00:02] belkinsa: under settings > notification [00:02] Sigh, I would but that's a lot of e-mails. [00:02] yeah... pleia2 showed me how to subscribe... nothing to do with being an admin [00:02] just put this in the big box: .* [00:02] I made a rule that puts them in a special folder. [00:02] yeah, I filter them to a folder [00:03] easier to manage it [00:03] cprofitt, are you okay if I'm the driver for the wiki sub-team? [00:03] I am very much OK with that [00:03] I would be OK with making you an editor as well [00:03] As in an admin? [00:03] * cprofitt facepalms [00:03] the new updates made the lock screen issue worse... [00:04] now it locks the screen and never blanks it [00:04] before it would not blank if you locked it manually... but would blank and lock it if it was inactive [00:04] sorry... off-topic, but just updated my testing box [00:11] If it's for the admin, something keeps on turning off from applying and i think it's the notifications. [00:11] notifications are completely unrelated [00:12] Oh, I thought they were. [00:12] all admin means is you can move and delete pages :) [00:12] Ah. [00:12] anyone can subscribe to all or no wiki pages [00:12] (I've been subscribed to all for a while, well before I became admin) [00:13] Perhaps I should apply. But I think I don't have enough examples and that's my other fear. [00:13] bkerensa's application is also still hanging out there [00:14] also my app for uploads is coming up [00:14] Maybe that could be a item for the meetings when someone applies. [00:14] bkerensa: happy birthday :) [00:15] bkerensa, happy birthday [00:19] cprofitt, going back to when you said hello, you think that my lesson helped people to not fear wiki editing? [00:35] Random thought: I feel like I helped the team to get organized when I joined. [01:30] sorry son called me upstairs [01:31] yes, I think you helped [11:42] hey guys [11:42] can someone upload 'sl' figures for me? :) [14:31] godbyk, got your e-mail. [14:56] belkinsa: Are you around? [14:56] I am. [14:56] What's up? [14:56] Peter Matulis is the driver of the serverguide project. I have changed the wiki page you all were talking about yesterday. [14:57] Oh, and thank you. === jono is now known as Guest82898 [15:06] belkinsa: you pinged yesterday? [15:07] Yup, I did, shaunm. Are you active in the Desktop sub-team of this team? [15:07] trijntje: Are you around? [15:07] trijntje: A couple of days you asked about screenshots for desktop help. Please note that I do not think (but am not sure) the script, collect-screenshots.sh , works. There was some work being done on the script during the 13.10 cycle, but I do not know how that work ended. For the master, or US-English screenshots, I do them manually. [15:07] Were you able to acquire your desired screenshots? [15:08] belkinsa: not really. I hang around to help people with mallard and yelp [15:08] Oh, I see. [15:09] shaunm: And many thanks for all your help this cycle. It was very valuable. [15:13] sure :) [15:13] do you guys know about the open source docs conference I run every year? [15:13] Nope. [15:13] What is it? [15:14] http://openhelpconference.com/ [15:14] two days of part-conference-part-unconference, then there's three days of sprints for any team that wants to stick around [15:15] And it's in Cincinnati. [15:15] That I can come down to. [15:15] where are you? [15:15] West Chester, Ohio. Only 30 minutes north of Cincinnati. [15:16] oh my gosh [15:16] there are other open source people in cincinnati? [15:16] Don't know. But can pass it around. [15:17] shaunm: You have mentioned your open source thing to me before. I did not know about it. [15:17] well, I mean, there's you [15:20] the gnome team is always there for the conference and sprints. if there's a big ubuntu presence, we could get together and discuss what people need out of mallard and yelp [15:28] dsmythies: yeah, I noticed that the script does not work at all for dutch, but seemed to work pretty well for english [15:28] due to the fact that unity also searches in the translated names of programs [15:29] so it opens a whole bunch of wrong programs on a translated system [15:30] trijntje: Were you able to acquire your desired screenshots? Can you do them manually? [15:31] dsmythies: It took me quite a while to figure out why it didn't work, so I basically passed the april 3rd deadline without getting any screenshots ;) [15:35] trijntje: I think April 10th (say the day before for any merge proposal) would be the final deadline for screen shots changes, since they have no effect on translations. [15:52] dsmythies: i've been thinking about updating the screenshot script to support trusty/different languages. However, I still have a lot of translating before the 10th to do, so I'm not sure if I'll be able to complete the screenshots before that [16:09] I have to go now, but I'll probably end up messing with that script trying to fix it even if I dont have time before the 10th ;) [21:47] godbyk, you there? [22:50] belkinsa: I'm back now. [22:51] godbyk, I still didn't get any e-mail for the Doc Team's mods and also I have one e-mail to the list that i sent via another e-mail that needs to be accepted. [22:52] belkinsa: Okay, I'll look into why you're not getting email notices. [22:52] belkinsa: In the meantime, you should be able to moderate messages using this URL: [22:52] Alright, it might be a problem on my end. [22:53] belkinsa: I noticed that GMail was sending those notifications to my spam folder originally, So you might check that. [22:53] belkinsa: Also, I only get one email a day about it. [22:54] I know, but I have Yahoo and it's not letting me to send any e-mails at all. [22:54] belkinsa: Finally, I may have screwed something up. :-) So let me know if you encounter further problems or if you still don't receive notification emails. [22:54] Alright. [22:54] I can get into the page. [22:54] Should I discard or reject the spam? [22:55] I discard it. [22:55] Discarding a message just throws it away without notifying the sender. [22:55] Alright and ban? [22:55] Rejecting a message notifies the sender that their message has been rejected. [22:55] Ah, I see. [22:56] Yeah, you can ban the spam, too, though I'm doubtful it does any good. [22:56] Alright. [22:56] (They'll likely just send it from another email address next time.) [22:56] All clean. [22:56] \o/ [22:57] It was three spam and mine. [22:57] We tend to get 3-5 messages a day. [22:57] Ah, not that bad as I thought. [22:57] Yeah, it could be much worse.
