[20:03] <rigo> no, i guess not. i mean if i install the latest kernel from http://kernel.ubuntu.com/~kernel-ppa/mainline/ my new device is automatically recognised. so supported "out of box"

[20:05] <JanC> if you want mainline kernel to support your device, you'll have to talk to the upstream kernel developers (and possibly also to the devices manufacturer(s))

[20:12] <rigo> in example the s471 card was not supported in the 3.4 but was in the 3.6. so i didnt had to wait a lot. maybe ill be lucky this time too
