ricotz | mlankhorst, hi :), regarding the mesa-packaging-git, could you merge the mesa/ubuntu changes into mesa/ubuntu+1? | 14:46 |

mlankhorst | sure | 15:07 |
LiamW | hi guys, I recently installed Ubuntu 11.10 from a LiveCD on an iMac with a shot GPU (I used the kernel options "root=0 recovery nomodeset") to boot the LiveCD successfully. Now that I have installed Ubuntu, I can no longer start X (I can assure you that the NVIDIA drivers are installed. nvidia-xconfig does nothing.) I have ssh access to the machine, any help would be appreciated! | 18:29 |
LiamW | here is the output of "cat /var/log/Xorg.0.log": http://paste.ubuntu.com/7208968/ | 18:33 |
tomreyn | LiamW: so have you read the "COMMON PROBLEMS section in the README"? also, does it work with nouveau? | 23:06 |
tomreyn | did you do what the channel topic suggests? | 23:07 |
LiamW | tomreyn: turns out it was an issue with the kernel. I installed Ubuntu 13 and now everything seems to work fine, despite that the GPU glitches out over 1280x720 | 23:10 |
tomreyn | there's no such thing as "Ubuntu 13" | 23:11 |
LiamW | ... 13.04 | 23:12 |
tomreyn | better install a version which is not EOL | 23:12 |
tomreyn | (unless you have no plans to connect to any networks nor connect any external storage.) | 23:15 |
