[14:46] mlankhorst, hi :), regarding the mesa-packaging-git, could you merge the mesa/ubuntu changes into mesa/ubuntu+1? [15:07] sure [18:29] hi guys, I recently installed Ubuntu 11.10 from a LiveCD on an iMac with a shot GPU (I used the kernel options "root=0 recovery nomodeset") to boot the LiveCD successfully. Now that I have installed Ubuntu, I can no longer start X (I can assure you that the NVIDIA drivers are installed. nvidia-xconfig does nothing.) I have ssh access to the machine, any help would be appreciated! [18:33] here is the output of "cat /var/log/Xorg.0.log": http://paste.ubuntu.com/7208968/ [23:06] LiamW: so have you read the "COMMON PROBLEMS section in the README"? also, does it work with nouveau? [23:07] did you do what the channel topic suggests? [23:10] tomreyn: turns out it was an issue with the kernel. I installed Ubuntu 13 and now everything seems to work fine, despite that the GPU glitches out over 1280x720 [23:11] there's no such thing as "Ubuntu 13" [23:12] ... 13.04 [23:12] better install a version which is not EOL [23:15] (unless you have no plans to connect to any networks nor connect any external storage.)
